The ignore feature is an excellent option on gupshup, but would there be a way to add moderators to the list that would not impede the administration of the chat board?
Why I understand there may be administrative/rules posts that should be read, is there a way to break them down by ‘official’ vs ‘opinion’ posts? It would be great to not be exposed to these opinion posts that are insulting to other faiths. It’s bearable when it comes from the average Joe Poster, but for some reason I cannot help but be nauseated when reading it from a person of authority.
Semi you need to learn to integrate with the wider community and be greatful for what GS has offered..your lack of integration is creating a cyber ghetto on GS..integrate my man!
Zakk, by integration do you mean I should show tolerance for moderators who don't? Your definition of cyber ghetto is evidently different from mine. I would call a person of authority on a religion board telling others they are going to hell or insulting their religious leaders much more ghetto-like than not integrating with that mindset.
I am grateful for GS has offered. They have done a most excellent job in providing this resource. But just as I am grateful for living in a great country, it doesn't mean everything the leadership does is in the best interests of the entity or its people. But that has been beaten to death. I'd just like the ignore feature so I can stop acting like a crybaby.
Dhobi Bhai, this is the second time your post has gone over and above my head, care to explain, you know I am not as smart as Dhobis!!!, otherwise I would be Firaying topis too you know!!!
The point, Your Majesty, is that I wish to continue reading, learning and contributing to gupshup I don’t want to “LOGOUT” just because I find one moderator’s views to be uninformed, biased and insulting.
As I said, those views coming from a general poster are understandable, but even then there is the option to IGNORE. Those views coming from a moderator in a non-religion forum are even tolerable. But when we are talking about spirituality, convictions and beliefs that people hold as dear and deep as does the moderator, it is important that the one in charge of moderating the forum not condemn them to hell. Not that a moderator can’t believe in that intolerant view, but to express it as the ‘man in charge’, stifles dialogue, discourages participation, is extremely insulting and promotes intolerance from the top.
I really don’t understand why this pov seems to be so foreign. It seems like it would be common sense, common courtesy and common decency.
if its once or twice it seems like a fair call, but if u cry and shout about each and every post of mine u see in the forum, then its nothing more than a baby crying just at the sight of a stranger without even knowing if he is good or bad....
and stop crying over me condemning anyone to hell, i merely stated to u what the Quran says and its very natural that u being a non-muslim find many things in the Quran unacceptable....
but for muslims, Quran says nothing but the ultimate truth....

lol..so mr.seminole is offended by posts insulting faiths...while he himself espouses extremely racist views towards blacks..a typical holier-than-thou hypocrite..bet u go to church too...
I am certainly not defending anyone’s religious views, but after reading lussi’s claims about Seminole I did a search, and lo and behold that guy (Seminole) has certainly posted racist views against blacks. What a total hypocrite!
..a typical hypocrite..now would a black person find this offensive or not? …if there is anybody who need to be ignored here it’s this Seminole racist..
