Now that I have had some coffee and a cigarette, it’s time for a little Biology lesson for the delusional programmer here.
To find someone’s IP address you always have to lure them into running some piece of code, no exceptions, either on their machines (client) or yours (server). A tried-and-tested method is to include a 1x1 pixel image (so it would be invisible), residing somewhere on your own machine, acquiring which would execute a script (server-side or client-side, it’s entirely up to you) to log the IP address. Won’t work on GS, because all the images are uploaded on GS servers instead. Even if you found a way around it, it would log IP addresses of every single person viewing this thread. Pointless. Whats left to do is to fool them into running the script in their own browsers. Which means they will have to click on one of your links, or images. Don’t see that happening either.
What you call IP mapping, is what we in the industry call IP spoofing. It doesn’t work the way you hope it would. The only way that can work for you is if you are using the same ISP as your victim, and if you are allocated IP addresses from the same block as your victim is, and even then your victim has to first release his/her IP address before you can acquire it. ISPs pay huge sums of money to license a block of IP addresses, and you can bet your bollocks they aren’t easy to acquire if you aren’t a subscribed user. If IP spoofing was so easy, someone like you could easily map to facebook’s IP address, redirect all their traffic to your own server and log every single facebook password in the world.
