For someone I simply disagree with, I would not put them on ignore. I haven't met anyone online who I personally disliked. If someone for instance is just spamming or trolling, then I would consider ignoring them.

Words can hurt - but I think the it's not just words but the relationship with the person uttering the words.

For example, the words of a superficial acquaintance matter less and can be ignored or dismissed. But the words of someone that matters to us, can wound deeply. So I would take what you're saying to mean being indifferent to the person uttering the words, rather than the words itself, right?

OK so let me clarify again. I am not the owner of this website, I am just a mod with additional responsibilty. One of the responsibility is to keep the site friendly enough for majority of the participants. When I do that, I appear like a dictator to the person I banned or warned.

Lets say I start following your around and every chance I get (whether relevant or not, whether you are talking to me or not), I quote you and throw an insult or a sly remark as a reply. Lets also assume that its more of my attitude which is annoying and not my words, so you cant report the post to get me warned either.

How would you handle that situation?

It has happened with me before. I've handled it 2 ways:
1. I quote back and be extra friendly with that person. They get ticked and leave :D
2. I continue to ignore. No one has that much energy to follow me around for weeks if I'm not saying anything back.

Well instead , I make a multi , map it with his/her IP … And get them ban by using it :snooty:

I used the ignore button once when I needed it for my mental peace & removed it when I didnt need it :D

15 years and there is currently only one person on my ignore list…

  1. How do you find his/her IP?
  2. How do you map it to that IP?

only one my friend.......I don't think this one person has it in them to manage many nicks.....they can't handle the one they have properly.....
