Nothing wrong with that. He is retired, and retired army or legal brethren should be welcomed to offer their services. I do not like Musharraf one bit but I support him when it comes to his desire to make a political party, well he made one anyways. We complain about a tug of way between two parties so why not welcome this move? Becoming too over critical against people we dont like has blind sighted us from real crimes against democracy (military coups, politcal parties indulging in extortion, horse trading etc).

It has now a fashion in Pakistan that any dishonest bikau elite when retire is to make a political party to save his arse from any accountability to corruption, lies, dishonesty, looting money, mostly biased decisions when at the seat of judge etc........People also forget their dishonesty because they themselves are bikau, mostly. In fact such elite already play politics when in power.

After recent failures (repeated) of PTI with MQM/ANP going down and APML making no progress, I think we do need a new but effective political party.

This is why the government system in the States works. Judiciary is separate from legislative system and this is all separate from the executive system and there is no crossover at least not in terms of the judiciary.

Additionally his corruptions are well known. No one should be supporting his "right" to form a party.
This is why pakistan is where it is. The people are supporting these criminals.

I don't see him succeeding in politics, he had lost a lot of respect and support by the time he retired. I agree with sachay that it seems as if his entry seems more towards covering his and his sons corruption.

Right so he wants to setup a party and then merge with Nawaz later as joining N league would have been controversial.
Personally i think he is too controversial to even win his own seat unless he does the seat adjustment with his well wisher Nawaz.

Just because they do it, doesn't mean it's right. You join politics later on, you may have a political agenda WHILE you're in the judiciary position. It's called conflict of interest. Pakistanis aren't evolved enough economically and politically to understand the dangers of such things.

That is not a conflict of interest. He is not the first person from formerly from the judiciary or the military to have formed a political party and its not a conflict of interest if he's not serving anymore. Also, a lot of folks from PTI who are not happy with people like Tareen or SMQ as well as those unhappy in PML/PPP are willing to join his party so it's good for them. If people think they are not credible, they would not vote for them. Either way, having another party in the mix will be good thing especially considering people saying we need to break the hold of the two main political parties.
Sadly, you show support for dictators who unconstitutionally take over for decades by breaking the law and send the country back in time, but have problems if they want to do it the legal way by making a political party. As for undermining the people of Pakistan and your comment about them not being 'evolved' enough, keep in mind we are sitting thousands of miles away, many of us not even Pakistani citizens (cant vote anyways), with absolutely no understanding of politics there (very true based on your posts) but are quick to be so judgmental and ready to 'enforce' decisions on their behalf.
