Iftikhar Anjum is not only the weakest player in this WC squad but also the most run of the mill one in Pakistan world cup squad history. He may be worse than Iqbal Sikander, the nameless but undeservedly awarded member of 1992 WC winners.
Unless our fast bowling trio (Shoaib, Asif, and Gul) make themselves available to WC for unpredictable reasons, the odds of Iftikhar Anjum featuring in playing 11 are very near to the ground. Sometimes, I baffled by the reasons of having Iftikhar Anjum, the poor copy of Aaqib Javed, in the cricket team whose record speaks by itself. Iftikhar Anjum is neither a wicket-taking threat nor a run-stopping block. The most wickets that Iftikhar taken in a match are 2. It is not an optimal sign for a player who is playing international cricket for 3 years.

Iftikhar Anjum is not a strike bowler. He may be utilized as a first-change bowler where his outstanding line and length and controlled bowling may help in reducing the runs accumulation. His record as a first-change bowler is better than as a strike bowler.

He is a much better choice than the likes of Sami and Rana (on current form only). Not a wicket-taking option like Shoaib or Asif, but much better than what shmucks like armughal pronounce him to be.
Don’t even bother responding to armughal’s non-sensical posts. He doesn’t know jack about the sport :o ; better suited to moderating the wonderful religious forum. Iftikhar Anjum is a much better choice than some of the lallu panjus we have tried.
I do not hate Iftikhar Anjum. I am just analyzing his record in cricket matches. He is one of the top pacemen in domestic circuit. But very mediocre on international scene. My comments are part of one big article that I wrote.
Rao, Iftikhar, Rana and Sami need to GO if we ever want to win a game or two in the future. They are horrible bowlers. Get some new blood but our pathetic selectors and "the management" over at PCB is full of doctors and friends of the ruling elite who don't know **** about sports or cricket.
difference between sami and rao is, sami got better pace, rao got better luck.
i agree with imran khan, sami just needs lil bit self confidence, lilbit of luck and maybe a hug from captain and coach.
rao will never ever be a star. i can write it down and sign it.
