I’m having my friend and her husband over for Iftari on Sunday…here’s what i had in mind…any suggestions/changes would be appreciated!

Iftar: samosas (beef), chicken rolls, chicken patties, pakoray, fruit chaat (plus chutneys and lemonade)

Dinner: chicken biryani, chapli kebab (salad, raita, drinks)…i want to add a salan as well to have with roti or naan, but not sure what.

My husband thinks i shouldn’t add a salan…cos it’s just two people and i’m having the iftari items as well beforehand and i kind of agree…but i’m on the fence about it. =/

In laws are coming over tonight to my place since my nand is arriving from Canada..haven’t seen her in 11 years! Menu is as follows:

Iftar:

Khajoor
Kheema Samosas
Cut up watermelon
Papdi chaat
Orange juice sharbat

Dinner:
Mattar chanwal
Aloo Gosth Qorma
Masaledar Baked Chicken Drumsticks
Khatti Daal
Dahi Boondi
Naan from a restaurant

Ice cream for dessert

I think most ppl generally misunderstoon OPs question she asked what you would make if you hosted an iftari! Not if the menus were ok

Anyways

I hosted iftar twice now

First time

Chickn k samosay
Fruit chaat
Aloo pakoray
Khajoor rooh afzah

As our fast open late and no one wanted salan dinner was

Besan wali murghi (fried)
Chips
Potato salad
Coleslaw
Naan

Lol i know unhealthy!! But my guest r fussy

Second time

Samosay
Fruit chaat
Mixed pakoray

Dinner

Haleem
Baked skin on chickn
Fresh naan from restaurant

Dessert
Ice cream and waffles
