This will be the first ever iftar that i will be holding. I am not been able to set the menu so decided to ask guppies for my help!
I want things that can be cooked easily and even some beforehand. I dont want to get into last minute frying, like pakoras. I would prefer something that can be baked, i was thinking pattese or baked samosas. I had something like following in mind:
**Iftar:
**
Dates (filled with almonds and cream)
Fruit Chat
Channa Phulki in Dahi
Samosas
Chicken Pattese
Drinks (something refreshing and easy to made like lemonade with soda or simply roohafza)
**Dinner:
**I am totally clueless lol may be something like
Chicken korma
Seekh kabab (dum wale)
Haleem
Naan
Pea Pulao
Fresh salad and chutney
I am so confused, help me in setting the menu. Should i go for dessert (like tiramasu) or simply chaye at the end. All suggestions are welcome. I wont mind playing with the menu a bit. The thing is i am alone (no help ofcourse) and i am also not used to doing iftar parties. I need suggestions and tips
I like your Iftar menu .
Dinner Menu, I like the first option , its very balanced .
For dessert , I would suggest you cut up some mangoes in cubes and serve it with icecream ... coz due to longer roza's one tends to get full quickly and a heavy dessert just kills the next day's sehri .. so just do some fresh fruit .. maybe a mix of melon and water melon .. or just mangoes with icecream etc ...
I really like your menu....sounds awesome! Out of the dinner options you've listed...I like the first one (with the haleem, korma, etc). And if you go with the first dinner option.....that would make your menu a desi one....and maybe the tiramisu won't fit in as well. I'd have a desi sweet dish instead such halwa, or zarda, kheer, rasmalai, etc. Plus..some people (like myself) may not like the coffee flavor...so I'm not a fan of tiramisu. If you go for the second dinner option which is more varied...the tiramisu would fit in better.
