Salaam guys!
I’m thinking of hosting an iftar with mediterranean food insha’allah in July for about 16 adults and 6 kids between the ages of 2-8.
So far my menu looks something like this:
Iftar
- Spanakopitas
- Puff Pastries with Keema
- Rainbow Sandwiches
- Fruit Chaat
Dinner:
- Maklooba
- Adana Kabab or Koobideh
- Eggplant Dish - Borani Banajan I believe.
- Chicken Skewers
- Taziki sauce and salad of some sort.
Dessert:
- Baklava
How does this menu sound? Would you take out anything? And does anyone have a good tried and tested recipe for Maklooba and Adana Kabab or Koobideh?
Thanks!!!
Re: Iftar Mediterranean Menu
i would definitely add greek salad with feta cheese and meeze platter. grilled turkish koftas can do as well .
Re: Iftar Mediterranean Menu
In my opinion, no need for koftas when there are already 3 meat dishes on the menu. I think menu looks good because you have a rice dish and you have items which can be eaten with bread. You have a veggie dish...meat components...and grain. I don't think you need to change anything. I recently developed a liking for stuffed grape leaves and if you know how to make them...I'd maybe substitute one of the stuffed pastry items with that because you have 2 stuffed pastries. Or u can replace one of them with a bowl of hummus with pita wedges. But even if you don't do this...I still think it's a lovely menu.

thanks!! i'll keep those options in mind as well incase I decide to switch it up a little more :).
