No it's not true to say only the girls from back home make good wives and others don't. I'm not from back home! But I don't see anything wrong in kneading the dough myself and making the roti and what not for my husband even before he asks for it, as long as he loves and respects me in return!

i make roti everyday and parathas for breakfast on weekends…
we dont like bahar ki roti and I use brown atta so its kind of a compulsory thing to make alongwith khana…
but i HATE to knead the atta almost everyday:mad:

my mom got me an "aata ghoondnay wali machine". i haven't made roti once in my life but i guess i'll make it for him when he comes.

There is nothing wrong with making roti... But I feel like roti is one thing I can't multi task..I have to dedicate 15-20 mins for 3-4 rotis ( I m not quick like many women) so by the time I get home, I prefer making fresh matar palao over roti because I can do other things while its being prepared, like put a load in laundry, wash dishes, set up the table, pick up toys from floor...I am not a stay at home mother and making Chawal allows me to multi task, roti doesn't!
I make parathas over weekend and again it's about time and not because I have to make it.

i think kneading dough and making roti is such a tedious task. I try to make roti twice or thrice a week :sid:

lol roti banana isnt an issue.. but since its so time consuming, I just make a large batch.. apparently, he was not too keen on the idea.
and ladies I thought kneading aatta was the fun part.

I'm gonna teach my boys to make rotis and parathas. No need to ask your wife.
this. both my sis and i have been making rotis and basic paratha since we were like 10-12. ok it was fun back then :D

I make roti every day but cant make parathas. So i make roti during the week and he makes parathas over the weekend. The atta machine has made life so easy

LOL I’m always surprised to find out some people seldom make roti at home. In my home, hardly a day goes by when roti isn’t made.

3) The sublimely maternal
The subservient wife will feel afraid or guilty for not making rotis for her husband
The activist antagonist wife views the notion of cooking rotis for her husband as a symbol of male domination and resists
The sublimely maternal wife views herself as a greater human who must feed the husband creature because he is deficient and immature.
The number 2s - work well with automen - An automan is a man who does his own things himself ...
Just observation nothing else ... I guess my wife's prayers were answered when I turned out to be gluten intolerant ... but hey - they have gluten free flour ... more power to the home made gluten-free naans ...
