If your 8 years old daughter ask you who are gay people what would you tell her?
And if they see two ladies kissing in some restaurants and asks you is this allowed mom a girl to girl interaction? The question came into my mind because last week one of the GAY COUPLE was removed from some restaurant because they were getting personal. Now how you can take your kids to that kind of restaurant and tell them?
Re: If your 8 year old daughter asks you about Gay people
that's tough one for an 8 year old.
Re: If your 8 year old daughter asks you about Gay people
Yeah but how can you explain even if its a 10 year old one. There should be some answer since Western media is promoting gay people so much.
Re: If your 8 year old daughter asks you about Gay people
The answer depends on how you, personally, really feel about gay people, no?
"Beta, put it on the list of things you will figure out when you will grow up"
"Umm, they are always happy, so you know we call 'em gay people!"
"chhi chii ... don't talk bad things .. yeah bhe koi ba'at hay pochnay wali?"
Re: If your 8 year old daughter asks you about Gay people
Kids don’t want these kind of answers AJ
. Here is what happened it was a news on channel when my friends daughter saw that. The news was about gay couple thrown out of restaurant for being personal. She asked what are gay people? and what were they doing in restaurant? And after that gay couple interview. She changed the channel but the damage was done. If she will not give her clear answer the child will definitely ask her class mates. Information is out there.
Re: If your 8 year old daughter asks you about Gay people
So if people are fine with GAY mentality so they should tell their children that these are people with same sex marriage and we don’t do it.
Or these are people with same marriage when you will grow up you will come to know. And the end result will be your kid want GAY marriage.
Re: If your 8 year old daughter asks you about Gay people
No, I meant, we shouldn't be dishonest with our kids. To tell them one thing & believe something different. I firmly believe in Qulo Qaulan Sadeeda (Say the straightforward thing)
And trust me, kids will not want "GAY" marriage just if someone tells them what gayness is. Just like by telling kids about polygamy doesn't make 'em want to be polygamous.
Re: If your 8 year old daughter asks you about Gay people
If my 8 year old daughter asks me who are gay people, I will say "If a boy thinks he likes boys enough to one day marry one of them or a girl thinks they love girls enough to marry them, then they are considered gay."
If she asks more questions then I will answer them otherwise I will let the conversation end because it will bound to come up when she is a little older. And by answering that question honestly, I am creating an environment where she trust me to come ask me questions about anything.

Nice answer I would want to say the same to my children if ever they asked anything. What if they ask Is it allowed in our religion?
Re: If your 8 year old daughter asks you about Gay people
Do we always have to answer every questions?

You just can't ignore them.
Re: If your 8 year old daughter asks you about Gay people
Children shouldn’t be watching news on tv in the first place. There are all kind of news (full of violence and stuff) on tv these days.

Yes you are right I also don't let my children watch news but thats her. What can I say.
Re: If your 8 year old daughter asks you about Gay people
I will say no, it is not allowed. Just like, living with someone without marrying them is not allowed.
But I seriously doubt she will ask that. At age 8, only kids growing up in Pakistan are taught to immediately ask that question. I think 8 year olds in US are not taught to look at life through a religion only lens.
