I was watching one of the soaps last night and two of the characters who have really needed to talk over the past few months but have been avoiding it, found themselves stuck in a lift in a department store whilst out shopping…it got me thinking to post a thread…
So, who would you like to be stuck in a lift with? Name three people:
1) A fictional character
2) A famous person/celebrity
3) A real person from your life (past or present)
Here are MY answers:
- My fictional character would be Willy Loman from the Arthur Miller play “Death of a Salesman”. He was such a troubled character who lived to work and nobody understood him. But there was so much more depth to him.
- A famous person would have to be Tony Blair - I don’t think the media does him justice so would like a “proper chat with him”
- A real person - Would be someone who shall be called DRC - I worked with him with my former company (part time and weekends when I was at school and Uni) DRC and I were both best friends and worst enemies, we loved each other and hated each other at the same time, we wanted the best for each other but annoyed the hell out of each other, if either one of us was off, the work day wasn’t the same as we had nobody to annoy/taunt or speak to. The say I left that particular branch to go to uni was the worst day of our lives - the day I returned in my holiday was the best day of our lives.
Then one day, he left the company…I hated him for that, but it was for the best, we were making ourselves miserable, those around us knew that we were good together, but I am a muslim, I had to remember that, he was a gorah. I was 19 years old and I know that his leaving was the best for me. I am thankful that my Imaan took precedent.
I still think of him and hope that wherever he is…he is happy.
