My all-time favorite Bollywood film is Guru Dutt's "Pyaasa". The film had it all. It was not only one of the greatest Indian films ever made, but in my opinion it could hold it's own against my three favorite Hollywood's films - "Casablanca", "Gone With the Wind", and "The Godfather"
Two of my all time favorite songs penned by Sahir, "Jane woh kaise log", and "Yeh Duniya ager Mil bhi Jaye", are amzazingly song (Hemant Kumar/Rafi), and picturized by Guru Dutt. Just the picturization of these two songs are an example why black & white films can never be surpassed because of the artistic possibilities the medium offers.
Moreover, the story, direction and acting were amazing. The film also offered a glimpse of a beautiful young Waheeda Rehman (jis ko Guru Dutt ne ghazeb se sajiya tha "Chaudavi ka Chand" meh).
But every time I watch Pyaasa, I usually need to watch another film to cheer me up.
So, I guess that if I could only have one choice, it would have to be Yash Chopra's "Lahme".

There are so many films to chooe from, the one that comes to my mind would be "Heer Ranjha" - the Pakistani version. It is most probably the best Pakistani Punjabi film and almost every song in the film was a hit.
