EMM, i ithink if i was the doctor then i would still tell the patient and advise them on treatment. The reasons for my decision is so that any pain or discomfort the patient is suffering from would hopefully be relieved. Would it not be best to give them treatment to reduce thier symptoms to make the remains few days of thier lives a little bit easier. To improve thier quality of life?
I think i would still go with the treatment even after knowing the toxicities. If it gives a small chance of living that tiny bit longer but you not go for it. Obviously the doctor should have balanced the PRO's and CON's of the treatment.
