and you must appologise, but your appology might act as a boost to a person’s ego who gives you an impression of “See I am always right” (which might bother you in future)
Would you still appologise for your inner satisfaction ?
How much your response depends on your relationship with him/her ?
Would you let go the matter and try to compensate in future through extra good behaviour with the person ?
Re: If you sincerely feel that it was your fault.....
I think I might. Whatever that person feels afterwards is upto him/her. By not saying sorry, I might end up with this burden on my shoulders regardless of the good deeds I perform afterwards. If I am not wrong, there is also hadith telling us to apologise to the person to please Allah. Again, cannot remember the exact words of the hadith so will not quote it.
i apologise wenever im wrong…and mashallah Atif never makes it look like he’s bigger then me in person…instead he apologies first even tho its not his fault…:halo:
point is i do know ppl who would snigger at u wen u apologise to them and i HATE that…which makes me not to apologise but actually to think about it im the bigger person instead wen i end up apologising…it frees me from all doubt and insecurtities…
Re: If you sincerely feel that it was your fault.....
brother STP,
admitting one's fault, as soon as one can, is necessary.
in trust and regad or care for each other, nothing can be as patch ful as a sincere apology in person.
of course, not everybody is capable of this.
fulfilling own conscience's need to be absolved,
issues like boosting another's ego,
compensating elsewhere
and so forth are secondary less important events.
main one is to make the relationship revived for its own sake or leave it on a good note.
our Maker is looking over us all.
best,
Dushwari
