You should start writing about your grandma’s story NOW before you step into other phases of life and get stuck in responsibilities. Just make it happen before it becomes a dream ![]()

Re: If you have to write a book…
The only thing I can think of now is a Teach yourself something in x days kind of book. I can’t see myself writing a book with a much different topic than that.

Define the value of ‘x’. or not x just that “something”. ![]()
That’ll describe the audience and level of interest.
The best way I see is to divide it into the phases of:

I’ve been reading a lot lately on those two topics and believe that having sound judgment of both SI and EI is so important to have a healthy relationship. Last year I read a book on the “lost art of listening”. It was quite powerful and I quickly realized that being a genuine listener can really strengthen your bond with someone and it’s a lot harder to do than we think. We’re subconsciously always trying to attach our own experiences instead of suspending our memory, desires and judgment when we listen to others.
As for success, there’s society’s way of defining it, our parents/ elders sometimes project their unfulfilled desires on to us and then there’s our own conflicting and ever-changing definition of what success really means.
Same, would love to take a look!

I think you quoted me by mistake. Was it for her?
Re: If you have to write a book…
Yes it was.
How do I unquote and multi-re-quote? ![]()
Still getting used to the forums…
Re: If you have to write a book…
That is all right. You just did fine up there. You did multi-quoting pretty well.
Re: If you have to write a book…
That is awesome, I kind of teach this stuff. Yes active listening is hard work and we come from a lazy background and don’t actively listen. I train my staff to ask questions, paraphrase and seek clarity and never make assumptions. I showed them the video about science of persuasion and how you can influence people. Did you learn about the different personality styles and mirroring and matching. Anthony Robbins has a great video on rapport building. It could change lives if people buy into it.
How we reward ourselves and how we view success is critical, I took my childrens focus away from money and directed them more towards building relationships and memories. If you have great memories with your loved ones than that to me is success.
Did you ever read about subjective morality and consequential morality?
Re: If you have to write a book…
How a conservative in one’s country of birth is a liberal when a minority in adopted country.
Re: If you have to write a book…
I took a couple psych courses in uni as electives and we learned about theoretical approaches to personality (type, trait, psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive, learning, evolutionary). Pretty interesting stuff!
Re: If you have to write a book…
Yes, it is really interesting stuff. The solutions of individuals and nations problems seem so simple yet we complicate thing.
Re: If you have to write a book…
