…who do you confide in or vent to?
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
friends. NEVER family.
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
Best friend. If it's serious, other friends get to know that something is going on, but not in detail. He knows that I talk to her. She is a sweetheart and is always able to explain his POV to me, as well as how she would feel in my situation. Love her!
I would really like to be able to tell my siblings/parents, but I don't know how that would affect their view of him.
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
I would discuss with him and try to work it out.. If there is no solution then we will prolly agree to disagree
If it is too serious.. my best friend might heart a few whines

Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
So no one discusses things with their family??
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
^I do, with my sisters.
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
with my spouse and no-one else.
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
my sis ..
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
My spouse.
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
Put it thru my own tool to Analyse the situation - think of the possible ways of resolution . And than pick the one never tired before :)
for analysing it , i have written a tool which explores ODBC databases, extracting and exporting records/options.
It is actually a a GUI to my resolution option database , which I connect via UnixODBC (linux) or ODBC (windows).
you know wha? I actually enjoy doing it ...
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse…
^:omg: You’re not serious, are you?
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
With no one.....there's no point in discussing it with others, they'd think I asked for some sort of help when all I needed from them was to just listen to me for few minutes. Telling your family makes it worse and telling a friend....well I don't have any close friend nor I'm planning to look for one. I think it's better to talk to random people who aren't close to you.
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
I try not to share with family, because even though all I am looking to do is vent.....they may hold it against the spouse knowingly/unknowingly....even though me and spouse may have simply worked through the issue already. On that note, I try not to involve my spouse on any tiff I may be having with family....similar idea.
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
SO and I always talk and resolve things between us.
But when I just need to "vent", I have 2 very close friend who I talk to. I would never, ever "vent" to family when it comes to my SO.
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
None other then him!
Family and friends are ALWAYS ready to give their input, which is a problem in itself!
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................

Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
.................who do you confide in or vent to?
depends on the situation. I can only answer from a Man's perspective.
I would keep things b.w the husband and wife, unless the matter requires advice, and then I would find a good local masjid who has a good qualified Imam (degreed person and not self proclaimed Imam) and have a personal discussion in private to get advice. If the husband agrees then I would go with him to seek the advice. Have a patient and open discussion about the issue.
Surprisingly, more and more imams are now giving pre marriage counseling to prospective spouses before they will Unite them in Nikkah/aqad.
If all fails, then I would talk to the mans parents to give him advice.
A friend of mine who is from indian descent and brought up in US, married a white american muslim convert. They have had tremendous issues, however, when ever the sister has spoken to the mans parents, they have listened and given her encouragement as well as their son advice to be patient with her.
I know this may not happen in desi families.
Also lots of supplication (dua) to Allah swt at night.....
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
your other half and other half only. Only you two can work things out otherwise too much water will flow under the bridge...
Re: If you have a problem with your spouse.......................
With hubs. If there's a recurring problem, i may discuss it with my sisters but very rarely do i do this.
