If You Could

If you could change one unjust thing in the world, what would it be?

Re: If You Could

turn all gays/lesbo .. into their respective gender,.. :chai: ..

child labor.

Re: If You Could

terrorism

Re: If You Could

I would stop prolonged suffering

Re: If You Could

what kind of suffering?

Re: If You Could

poverty, illness, war, racism, oppression...

Re: If You Could

That is cheating, you said one thing .. and now you put four things there :p

Re: If You Could

^hehe, thats why I summed it up as prolonged suffering chalakoo you’re the one who asked me to explain :barbie:

Re: If You Could

nevrtheless, you are right. The world could do without all these things. But is not that the definition of Utopian society... the one without any social diseases. We all want that but we cant have that. Hmmm ..is not that the theme of someone's blog today? : )

Re: If You Could

Myself-for better

Re: If You Could

^ aww cmon now I hardly think you could be described as an "unjust thing" in the world... in any case, self-improvement is a continuous action and probably the single most important concept to apply to one's life in order to achieve success and happiness. Good for you :)

Re: If You Could

How do you improve yourself? How do you set those standards that become your bench mark? I mean do we follow the standards set by society?

I am asking cause you said to Enya about self improvement is the important thing but how can you shoot if you dont have a target?

Re: If You Could

I think everyone has a set goal or target of the best that they could be in life and how far they want to go or work to achieve that. We all have standards and expectations of ourselves separate from what others think of/for us. I personally dont think anyone should go for whats set by society because thats being pretentious, go for what seems realistic and plausible for you.

hmmm tricky since the society changes with time and geography. If one takes standards from one society he might not be an "improved" person by other social standards.
Take Nazism and socialist role models for example. Back in 1930's and 40' a "good" nazi had a better standing in German society but can we say the same for a Nazi in today's German society? With time social standard changed here.

Lets talk about demographical influence now, a chinese citizen following all preachings of Chairman Mao may be a role model in China, but can we say that he will have the same standing in Europe or across Atlantic?

When it comes to self improvment spirituality and religions are the answer. The core of all major religions is self improvement (how they changed over time is entirely different matter).

Re: If You Could

Good point xeno.

I dont think that basic of any religion has changed, its people who modify to fit the religion to their lifestyles rather than modifying the religion to fit the religion.

I first apologize for not reading your post , i just read the title and post my comment hence missed the "unjust" part.

TLK bro, i believe you don't need to shoot for a star or anything. There are many little things we can change about us if we critique ourselves rather than others. I would say, i would start from "Iklaqiayat" (i hope it's a word) that's half the religion. And you don't need any set standards for this, we all know. :)
