If I could produce a movie (and had unlimited budget), I would love to see a movie with the following:
Writer: Umera Ahmed (provided she takes a break from drama-land and reflects back on her work) Director: Mehreen Jabbar or Sarmad Sultan
If it’s an MJ movie, I feel like the quality of the script will be better as she has historically worked with Umera to create brilliant story lines. The movie will have an indie feel, so I am not sure how people will respond to that. Historically Umera/MJ combo has been a hit but i am wondering if they would want more drama in a movie. MJ also has experience in casting ppl so that’s another plus point.
if it’s a Sarmad movie, it will have a more dramatic feel and might have more of an impact with our audience. but at the same time, the script would need to be SOLID (unlike Maat, Uraan and some of the other less than stellar works of Umera Ahmed) and I am not sure how comfortable Sarmad will be to work on a script with the writer. Also Sarmad doesn’t have much experience selecting a cast. In humsafar, the only person he selected was Atiqa Odho, so that makes me a little nervous.
Cast: male lead :Fawad Khan (DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, as the producer I would want that handsome and $$$ face in my movie),
female lead: I like Amina Sheikh but i’ve had an overdose of her, I don’t want to sound cliched but i do like Mahira Khan. She and Fawad make such a gorgeous couple. Supporting Cast: Hina Bayat; Abid Ali

Here is my team:
Writer: Sarmad Sehbai (writer of Jal Pari) - I liked his script technique in Jal Pari and he portrayed social issues like terrorism and target killing in Karachi very well.
Director: Sahira Kazmi - God knows, why she stopped working. She was famous for portraying social issues like student politics (Tapish), female empowerment (Hawa ki Beti), Working women problems (Khaleej), Poverty (Nijaat), Domestic violence (Zeb u Nisa). She can handle serious subjects properly. She, being an actress, knows how to make others act.. Her direction in 'Rozi' give a new horizon to Moin Akhtar's career. Having good knowledge of music (as evident from OSTs of her serial mainly composed by Arshad Mehmood) is plus point for her.
Subject: Student politics, gap between new and old generations.
Cast: Shahzad Shaikh & Qurat ul Ain (from Dreamers)... Rahat Kazmi & Marina Khan (Yes I do want to watch them together after Dhoop Kinare)

^ ooh I like your choice of writer and director. I would like to see more works by Sehbai sb and a definite comeback by Sahira Kazmi. Her Dhoop Kinare is prob my all time fav drama.

Sarmad Sultan and Mohammed Ahmed for the script writing/screenplay
Saqib Malik OR Jamshed Mehmood (Jami) for the direction
Salman Razzaq for the DOP
Actors: Shaan, Fawad and Iman with maybe a cameo by Ali Zafar
Genre: Drama/thriller with elements of the supernatural
