If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

Guys, if you were given the oppurtunity to meet one Pakistani politician, even if hes passed away, who would you pick?

Even though a lot of people would say Jinnah but you must also consider his role in post-partition politics wasnt much because of his ill-health and thus lets focus on the politicians that did make an impact.

My choice would certainly be Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, who in my opinion is the best politician we have ever had. Policies and political views aside, he would be an awesome person to meet and have tea with (I dont drink) . Though he was long gone before I was born, I have heard stories about his personality and charisma from so many people, and keep in mind I did not grow up in a Peeopleya friendly environment, infact most of those stories came from people in Punjab, who would tell tales of Bhutto’s awesome presence. I would like to meet the leader who tore those papers in the UN assembly hall and walked away with so much dignity. I was also told by president of the PIA air hostesses union that when Bhutto was on board a PIA flight, literally everyone in the plane was begging to go and say hello to the man himself.

Other leaders I would like to meet include the late Nawabzada Nusrullah Khan and Imran Khan.

So who would you like to meet, and why?

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

I've met Imran Khan a few times, the current Education Minister of Punjab (many times), and the Health Minister.

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

probably ZAB and Jinnah since ive met, Imran Khan Pakistans next Jinnah, nawaz and shahbaz sharif and benazir!

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

 Excellent thread Spock :k:

Apart from Quaid-e-Azam and General Musharraf; who everyone regardless of stance would always love to meet, I’d like to meet:

** Among those not in this world anymore;**

Yes, Mr Bhutto. Among other things I’d also like to see and infer up close what makes a man with qualities, intelligene, education, background and charisma such as him, end up the wrong way.

I’d also like to meet FM Ayub Khan.

Sheikh Mujeeb is a must meet!

Apart from that, various military commanders who played key political roles would be a delight to meet; Yahya, Niazi, Tikka, Zia

** Among those present;**

Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman; to see what the man is all about.

Imran Khan; to fathom what actually goes on in the politics section of his mind.

Pir Pagarra; I’d love to know what the fuss is all about.

Altaf Bhai; I’d love to know what the fuss is all about & to know what his leadership phenomenon is and how it works!?

BB; I’m sure she’s an interesting person and there’s so much more to her.

AM Asghar Khan; He’s been a politician for 4 decades now and has taken on every player in this field with courage. He must know a lot! And he must have a serious ideology in his mind, which he needs to explain and make ppl think about. Everyone respects him, but he never holds any office. He’s so grand he was the cheif guest as Air Chief when 29th PMA LC passed out in April 1964 with Cadets Shabbir Sharif and Pervez Musharraf as two future stars of the country. He is baba to everyone.

PM Aziz; he’s the wrong guy at the right place! Or vice versa. Charismatic and thoroughly professional. I’d love to learn much from him.

There are many more from today and yesterday I’d love to meet, but these would be more important.

And, I’d also like to meet Kashmala Tariq!
To admire her…& her fellows for working for women’s rights!

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

errrr, i thought the question had a number limiting the choices

haris may need to meet his math teacher first

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

musharraf ..noone else

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

Haris bhai koi reh gya tha lol j/k, excellent choices and explanations, and yes Ayub is one person I would love to meet to. Mushy is an interesting choice but from personal experience, all army high ranks are the same, in terms of personality and the way they meet people so it wouldnt be a new experience. I have met my fair share of brigs and generals at EME, they are exactly the same in terms of meeting and greeting people dont you think?

Ive met Imran a few times too but those were the pre-politics era, where he was solely interested in Shaukat Khanum. He used to come to our school quite alot back then, after the world cup, and would always be dressed up in a black suit and talk in English. However, something really happened to him after 93 I think, he started coming wearing a white starched shalwar kameez and started speaking in Urdu, and you could tell he wasnt happy about something that really bothered him by the way he spoke. I guess that was the time when he started thinking politics, he couldnt pull it off with his english style, since he was no Jinnah or Bhutto.

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

^ I want to meet musharaf too so i can kick him in his groin area.
nawaz sharif-- kick on the ass
bhutto --kick on the face

Imran khan so I can hug him:hugz:

qazi husain kick on the beard.

ayub khan kick on his bed where he was sleeping when china ask pakistan to attack india.

punch zia on his chin at the very moment when he is uttering word “islam”

and break benazir bhutto’s video tape —where she has papa bhuto’s speechs(from those she leans how easy it is to make pakistani people fool)

and jinnah so can sit quite and look at him.

And iqbal so I can serve him.

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

bhai jan he is asking about 'politicians' :)

Though I would have preferred a thread "if you were given a chance to kill one (Pakistani) politician, who would you pick?" :D

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

Probably I would pick Nawabzadah Nasrullah for his almost always sitting in opposition. After the era of founder politicians I don't think there is anyone I would want to meet/see.

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

sahibzada yaqoub khan
he played roles throughout diff regimes, and is considered a well respected person in domestic and international circles.

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

True, and I think he was a sincere guy, his wealth and property continued to decrease after independence, but the man remained loyal to his word and love for democracy. There is a very interesting speech he once gave about his life and the struggle for democracy.

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

I would like to meet Imran Khan, and Musharaf.. And offcourse Jinnah.
Ive been noticing a lot of people supporting Imran Khan these days? Why all of the sudden is he getting so much attention?
It would be great to see him in power, he would bring a breath of fresh air to the region I think.

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

would it?
he can talk the talk
but
can he walk the walk

I asked Imran Khan at one time to send me the draft of his plan for Pakistan. I am still waiting. the website for tehrik e insaaf had the usual general vision stuff.

but vision is nothing without strategy, strategy is useless without planning and tactics, and goals and measures, and only then can one execute.

all our political parties, including tehrik e insaaf, seem to be stuck at vision.

I like Imran, but I like anwar maqsood too..:)

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

i will also like to see mullah umer

And I also want to see wali khan so ask him how getting B-jobs from Indra Gandhi

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

mullah Omar is Pakistani?

Re: If you could meet a Pakistani politician?

Heyyyy Mr. Funny man.

Stop being thank less.
If you had follow imran khan closely you would know what does he wants for pakistan.

Unlike anwar maqsood he has built a cancer hospital.
He has written articles about pakistan's health/education/justice/social/political system.

Back in the days when I wanted to know what was wrong with pakistan I had to borrow/read 3-4 books from my uncle.

These day If some one care about pakistan he can just listen to imran khan.

I am so thankfull to Imran for just being there for my country.
