what advantages/disadvantages do you see if we were giants, say 60 feet tall on average?
First of all, given the same force of gravity, you think we were able to survive for this long? The biggest flaw in the design of land based giant animals was that a small trip/fall used to break their bones cause they were so heavy.
On a serious note, every floor would be 70 feet tall instead of regular 10 feet - which means we would be needing more material/resources per person. That is a disadvantage.
Advantage: It would be easy to move from one place to another . I mean everything for them would be just at walking distance. They can just visit the whole world just like that
sleeping naked might be ok, running around naked (as khatti was proposing) would be dangerous. Think of all that lose skin flapping around and killing small creatures in your vicinity/.
With the gravitational pull of the earth, tugging at every joint, a human that tall would not be possible. If somehow in someway someone created one that is 60 feet. It would move slower than a turtle, and eventually die a horribly painful and slow death due to rapid bone deterioration.
you are assuming that the current system of osteoblasts and osteoclasts would be responsible for bone dynamics in such a giant. Hardly true. Such a giant would “evolve” its own novel way of laying down hydroxylapatite crystals or a new type of mineral for cortical as well as spongy bone.
