If U were standing for Pak PM what would b ur campaign speech?

My colleague’s was:

Musharraf Bush ka pithu hae, mein Musharraf ka pithu ban jaaon ga, Pakistan ka Allah Maalik

on a bite more serious note tho, mine would be:

the first thing i’d do is make my govt permanent for atleast 5 yrs. then i would ban all political parties so i can actually carry out my plans without any disturbance. there would be no parliament and no opposition. the pakistani press is not constructive at all so it would be banned too.
just me and my cabinet ministers and provincial govts would be running the show.

and yes it would be a dictatorship so what :stuck_out_tongue:

then i would nationalise everything, from lands to industries…this would take care of the rich landlords n industrialists exerting undue influence

and then

my policies would be:

domestic national:

  • enforcement of true shariah in all aspects of pakistani law
  • making pakistan self sufficient in every sense of the word in all resources, this would include
    – developing the framework to explore and exploit natural resources like minerals, gas, oil etc
    – developing the agricultural framework to make it more efficient
    – creating world class educational institutions
  • increase in social development funding [but is that going to make our pinds all modern? :frowning: ]
  • development of tourism industry in pakistan [but is that going to spoil the pristineness of our northern areas? hmmm]. this would generate lots of revenue and increase friendliness among peoples.
    – giving general amnesty to all criminals in all the jails right after i come to power. we got too many innocents languishing there and not a speedy enough judiciary to deal with it all. so why not start afresh.

domestic local:

  • namaz will be farz for everyone and if someone is seen outside at namaz time he will be punished
  • planting of trees, make pakistan green and beautiful campaign, and enforcing vehicle smoke emission regulations
  • eliminating local violence [dont know how thats gona happen tho]
  • stop cable and indian movies and all foreign entertainment except islamic

foreign policy:

  • working towards strengthening of ummah and khilafat being the ultimate aim
  • stop being the slave of western powers and taking a more self respecting and honorable approach in all matters
  • normalisation of ties with india and solving the kashmir dispute

i would also pass a rule that all pakistanis residing abroad have to come back to pakistan, pakistanis are not allowed to go abroad.

hmmm…am prolly forgetting a lot of stuff…might be back with more…

your turn now

Political reforms:

Abolition of the Senate and National Asembly so that the Majlis-i-Shura (aka Parliament) would be the only legislative assembly. Purge the phrase "Prime Minister" from the constituion, replace it with "Wazir-i-Azam". Purge the word "President" from the constitution, replace with "Khalifa", declare Khilafat to have been re-established. Khalifa to be elected by direct vote every 5 years, as would Majlis-i-Shura.

Establish a committee, selected by election from the Majlis-i-Shura, to actually implement the existing sections of the Pakistani Constitution that state all existing laws should be brought in accordance with Islam.

Abolition of special status of the FATA, full integration into NWFP.

Economy:

Focus on "It's the economy, stupid" - economic growth to be the primary focus of government efforts. Hire Shaukat Aziz as Finance Minister, give him broad mandate to act as he sees fit.

Continue with privatisation programme, but only of all non-profitable state-run businesses

Domestic:

Zero tolerance on Police corruption, accompanied by increase in police budget to increase wages.

Increase education budget for primary and secondary education.

Complete madrassah registration. Multi-sect committee of ulema to be formed to agree and approve a new syllabus for madrassah education designed to foster cross-sectarian unity (I'm not blaming madrassahs for sectarianism, but I propose they could be used to fight it).

Military / diplomatic

Reduction on conventional arms spending, primary defence focus to instead be on nuclear arms development and production.

High priority on peace with India, with emphasis on compromises by both sides.

Drive for stronger relations with Iran, preferably military alliance.
