I was born and brought up here in the middle east and to be honest, I’ve kinda grown tired of waking up to 100’F mornings and the whole ‘big city, bright lights’ concept, despite being 24 years old, I want to move to a smaller and quieter place, most probably in heartland Europe and I’ve been doing my fair share of research on a few countries and I was able to narrow my findings down to 1 tiny land-locked country located between the borders of Austria and Switzerland.
Its called Liechtenstein, a sovereign nation that is about a 160 sq km’s in size and is divided into 11 tiny towns, the country has a population of about 35,000 people, 12.5% of whom are Muslim and mostly reside in the town of Vaduz, Schaan & Triesenberg, halal food is rare but not that hard to come by because of the fact that the country is so small.
Vaduz is the capital of Liechtenstein and also the Business and Commercial hub of the country, unemployment is next to nothing and taxes are very low, which is also the reason behind the fact that there are more companies registered in Liechtenstein than people.
Immigration to Liechtenstein should not be that difficult since it is a full member of the Schengen area
This is pretty much all I’ve been able to find out about this country so far, mostly due to the fact that there isn’t much information about it available on the internet.
Can’t tell much until you see the place in person.. On paper a lot of places can look inviting but once you get there it’s a completely different story..
My mum used to love the idea of moving to KSA but when she visited she didn’t like the people (‘native’ Saudis)..
I like the UK but I could happily live in Thailand.. somewhere completely different..
dude, you need to get out of that inhospitable desert more then you need to be out of Pakistan. I would personally pick pakistan over UAE any day.
Any country is good, Liechtenstein look pretty but its very small, you would know even raccoons by first name, there in about 10 years.
Dude its 160km across, before your car warms up country is going to finish.
So make sure you can go see other countries from there.
That means visa and some money.
If you can come to any country then, best is off course Canada.
Canada is home. But I could/want to live for extended periods of time in
Australia(wild and wild life)
Costarica(happiest nation on the planet-- they do govt. differently)
As much as I love my mother land, I don’t see myself living there permanently, mostly due to the fact that it isn’t THAT different to UAE or any other Middle Eastern country when it comes to weather and overall environment.
LOL @ the raccoon’s bit, I don’t know, personally, I kinda like the idea of living in a small country with a tiny population and the fact that I’ll have got some of the most beautiful landscape in the surroundings, besides I’m not a people person to begin with, I like to keep my social circle as small as possible, saves me quite a bit of headache.
There are other countries that I find fascinating, Chile for example is beautiful, just wish it were economically stable.
Visa and Money is why I want to move while I’m still single.
Canada is fine, been there, B.C. area mostly, not quite what I was looking for though.
And your list is pretty awesome, I like Moscow, its not peaceful but very movie like lol. I know of someone studying in Kazakhstan, Bishkek to be precise and they love it and Costa Rica sounds like the place you would want to go to if you were planning on faking your own death lol.
Yap..what kkf said. Love Canada..i wouldn’t want to live anywhere. I have been to Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg..and i tell you..Canada is the best place to live and raise your kids.
