If there had been no Partition in 1947.

I am in no way advocating joining back only a bit of fun analysis as to what could have been the state of South east Asia? (Good & bad)

  1. It would have been a very very big country, with the largest population in the world, povery, hunger with racial & religious problems.
  2. To appease the minority’s to stay with India - Jinnah would have been the first Prime Minister (& Governor General).
  3. Ofcourse if there was not partition, there would have been no mass killings or refugees.
  4. If there was no mass killings or refugees - the hate factor would have been minimal, say pre - partition level.
  5. Urdu (or Hindustani) would have been the Official language.
  6. Hyderabad, Kashmir problem would have never arisen.
    What do you think…

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

May be. But there would have not been great Pakistan hockey and cricket teams!

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

LOCK THE THREAD!

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

Why? can't handle a healthy and civilized debate?

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

in other wordz u wana ask what if we have Another Kashmir, but on a bigger scale?

p.s. it is amazing to see all the geek think-tanks, who publicizes n offer peace (even upon force) to other countries, fail to do so in Kashmir! :hayaa: :hoonh:

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

Pakistan should've definitely been formed but I just wish it wasn't religion alone that it's formation was based on. Then maybe certain problems of today wouldn't have existed.

there would've been too many hindu/muslim riots if the two were one country and the population would've been too huge to handle.

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

We would have not been able 2 live with the freedom we do with now.

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

if there had been no Partition in 1947 , we wouldnt be blessed by the gift we call Pakistan .

As Aaali shaab said ' Meraa Inaam Pakistan , mere phaychan Pakistan'.

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

When some days ago..i taliked about that it is the WISH of EVERY hindu and SIKH to re unite Pakistan to make...GREATER INDIA..some members denied it....

but you cannot change thier mentality...see it..they bring it again and again in different forms....

but i want to laugh at thier foolishness....but they are true..infact...very soon..in ghazvai Hind ...pakistan and india will be united ..also afgnistan ..to make a muslim government ..inshallah...

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

no way! i'm so thankful that India is a separate country from Pakistan. I'm honestly saying this.

All I was saying was that religion shouldn't have been the only reason for Pakistan's formation.

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

^^ true....eceomically ..all india was in hands of hindu lal..and muhajan interset and loan givers at that time...

thansk god..we have Pakistan...now...

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

and forget about India can look down upon Pakistan...or re unite it....india can be a super power to Bhutan and nepal..not Pakistan..

we are nuclear power..let it be clear to every indian..!!!!!

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

If there had been no partition, then india would have been one or more steps closer to becoming an islamic state.

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

That is completely untrue.

Way do Indians have this fascination with the partition? It is done and over. India and Pakistan are headed on different trajectories and perhaps we are all better for it.

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

You hae enough mosques in India to raze, enough muslims to kill or burn alive like in Gujrat&Bombay.

You are still not satisfied, you want to feast on us?

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

it is true.

Don't generalize by telling "why do indians"...specifically ask this to thread starter. THe day he started a thread telling "my opinions regarding pakistanis have changed"...(something like that)..i suspected that he will start this thread/will mention these sort of things somewhere. and he has started similar threads also earlier. so, I suggest this thread be locked:)

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

It is not true because an undivided India would still not have a Muslim majority. Democratically or through sheer numbers, Muslims would not be able to do much.

Also, I was not directing the "why do.." comments towards you. I had a separate paragraph for that reason. I am not going to generalize about Indians. especially when I disagree with your comment about an Islamic India.

On a related note, I have seen many Indian critiques (in academia) about these matters, so it is something that is on the minds of Indians. It is much rarer to see a similar thought by Pakistanis. In fact, most Pakistanis (academics or otherwise) do these scenarios with Bangladesh. Its all done and over with.

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

yea i'm so tired of this partition topic. Don't want to think about any "what ifs...".

It happened 60years ago so let's move on now and hope both India and Pakistan will continue whatever friendly relations they've been having and improve their respective situations.

Nobody is hoping for a "greater India" and nobody is hoping for reuniting, it would be nightmare for both countries.

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

If ther would have been no partition then more muslims will be killed by Hindus like gujrat events .

Re: If there had been no Partition in 1947.

cricket would be really boring then eh?
and ummm political posts in pakistani and indian boards..which would then just be indian posts would probably be a lot less..hmm wait, we would probably been fighting with the chinese.
