Re: If the world could vote in US Elections

edit: nm its working now... dlt plz

I think its going to be land slide victory for Obama at home as well. Unless Israel attacks Iran in next two weeks. That can put Grandpa ahead a little bit.

So far Obama camp's insider says Illinois senetor secured 308 electoral votes. These are safe. If things go well as uptil now, they are hoping to get 352-361.

NC, CO, NV, MO, VA, OH, FL and NH are all under fire. Yes even MO.

But my gutt feeling is that there will be a lot of mud sliding (after hearing Grandpa's tone yesterday) that will cost Obama quiet a bit. He will end up winning all Kerry's state + IA, NM and VA.

Re: If the world could vote in US Elections

With an economy in the tank, an unpopular war, an unpopular incumbant President, conditions are tailor-made for change. McCain/Palin ticket, despite some ups and downs had a very uphill task ahead of them. Be wary of polls, though. Obama loses voters between pollsters and polling both (behind the curtain, ppl just don't want to vote for the "black man"). He'll lose some votes there, but probably not enough to swing the state too much. McCain is running a horrible campaign, where he is not offering any solutions but just dragging mud and smears all over. Very dangerous tactic. It will get him some votes, but likely will lose him many more votes.

Re: If the world could vote in US Elections

This just shows that smart and sensible people all over the world who read the economist (which by the way is excellent) would prefer Obama.

Faisal Bhai, do you have any data to back this up? Because in my state, Obama won more votes than the pollsters said he would in the primaries.

Re: If the world could vote in US Elections

If you remember the tail end of democratic primary races, even states that were declared too close to call in pre-election polling, went to Hillary in a big way. I think its called the “Bradley Effect”. You can Google or Wiki it

Bradley effect - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Re: If the world could vote in US Elections

If the world could vote in US Elections, US would cease to be where it is today because others' interests would take the front seat. :)

Re: If the world could vote in US Elections

the Bradley-wilder effect has flattened out over the years. If it ressurects in a big way that is a diff thing. But there are big changes going on in how ppl are reacting two of my staunchly republican pals .. Registered republicans, generational types told me how they and their families...ormore accurately many ppl in their families arevoting for Obama and democrats this year becauseof an utter lack of confidence in GOP

W has a 25% fav ratings right now which basically means that half-ish of GOP supporters atleast are not too happy with him and mccain is simply not offering much that us diff. His record of being in alignment with W is causing concern among many GOP supporters. Obviously they are the ones who are focused on economy and foriegn policy etc and not the slogan toting single issue folks like the right to hear arms and anti choice crowds. They would vote GOP if the nominee was baloo the bear.

Will Obama suffer from the ‘Bradley effect’? - CNN.com

I hope the Bradley effect doesn’t come into play, as I would much rather live in a stupid America (who after all the mess still votes republican) than to live in a hypocrite America.
