@ Xephr
^ blaming our cricket administrators and cricketers prinicipally for the current mess. And yes I cannot hide my anger and frustration about indian bookies too.
GA...Pardon my ignorance here..but Majeed is not an Indian bookie...Why do you blame Indian bookies for that matter?

Re: If the situation was reversed!
Let's simplify this :
All bribe givers seem to emanate from India, all bribe takers seem to emanate from Pakistan.
Now who is more guility ?
Blaming India for all this mess is like accusing the woman in a rape crime because the woman was too seductive.
There are no two ways about it....it is Pakistan that has some serious cleaning work to do, not India.
The bookies are not International Cricket players and so ICC has no control over them. If you are waiting for the world to rid itself of Indian bookies, you may as well wait forever.
I can not say better than this. GA's childish logic can be applied to several Pakistani core issues (you know what I mean). But this is not right thread to discuss.

Yes..this applies to you too.
sure, let me know when you stop scratching that pole.
Re: If the situation was reversed!
Proves my point, as soon the word India is mentioned without trying to read or comprehend what is being said, it is, no India can never be wrong, we are perfect. ![]()

Good work Sherlock Patel! The fact that I am on a paki forum must've given it away
Re: If the situation was reversed!
Ehsan..without understanding the severity of corruption, you guyz started bashing India.
Yeah right…the Pakistani players are so innocent and honest. It is all the fault of Indians (bookies) to give them monies to dump their team and bring disgrace to thier country. It is all the conspiracy of Indians.tsk..
I really do not want involve into this India/Pak bashing…I am out of here… We never can undersand each other. You guyz believe in whatever you want.

@ PD
'Defensive' is the word here. We all become very defensive when someone points an accusatory finger at us....objectivity kee aisi kee taisi
That is not true GA.....you can have a conversation with Americans about USA's controversial role in war on terrorism....true, majority of Americans will never listen to you but there are many who are willing to talk to you objectively….
you can have a discussion with brits about their role as a USA puppet…
some Arabs will talk to you to explain why can’t their countries resist kingdoms at all and why are they so laidback and lazy…
go talk to russians about their shameful defeat in afghanistan and they are willing to accept their mistakes..
even Pakistanis are open to talk to about their internal inconsistencies and weaknesses...
but I have yet to find an Indian (south or north) who is willing to engage in an objective discussion about some of their internal or external problems…that is all i am saying..
over my life time, I have met thousands of Indians during my college life, and in personal and professional space but I have yet to find a single Indian who even acknowledges that minorities are in bad shape back in India…or who accepts that Kashmir is more than a Pakistan-induced problem….or someone who is willing to talk about escalating economic disaprety….. and Indian intellectuals (arundhati roy is an exception) and press have the same attitude…i am just pointing out what I have seen and observed....yes most people get defensive when when someone points an accusatory finger but with indians, this attitude is much more pronounced
Re: If the situation was reversed!
What are you trying to say? how is it related to this thread?
You are lost dude...I can write hundreds of pages how pakistanis are...never mind... as Sharabee says this is not the forum to discuss...
may be i am lost!!! but gald to know that you found the eternal peace!!!
i am just pointing out what I have seen and observed in last 20 years....

It's time we should talk.
I can write a thesis on this subject....but I will just put it crudely - I think both India and Pakistan are nothing but 3rd world cesspools. The Pakistani cesspool stinks a little more these days though.
India with its 1.5 billion people is a chaotic anarchy and it is a miracle that it functions somehow (cheer led by its media and a credulous middle class - the demographic that comments on Rediff).
That India is better off (or less worse-off) than Pakistan can be attributed to the Hindu majority's less inclination towards violence as compared to Muslim Pakistan. I know this is not a popular statement to make but this is my personal opinion.
Will stop there.

Hello ! I'm right here brother !
Re: If the situation was reversed!
The issue at hand is bribery
Spot-/match-fixing is a form of bribery.....right.
If you really want to purge the system of corruption you punish both the bribe taker (admittedly more guilty) and bribe giver. Players must be punished if found guilty but equally the authorities need to do something about these fking bookies. I am just sick and tired of them. I absolutely disagree with those who say it is impossible. That is a nonsensical statement. in saying that you are admitting that there is a state within a state! we are not talking about an entire country here but mainly Mumbai and Pune. Everyone knows that 99% of this nuisance of match-fixing/betting emanates from these two cities. If the authorities were really sincere they could definitely do something to minimize the problem. As they say where there is a will there is (always) a way
I am sure there are many other players involved in this gund.... it is just that they have not been caught yet. I am sure a lot of illegal betting takes place in IPL etc.
As Yasir Hameed rightly said: 'jo pakra jaye wohi chor hai!'
