The way I see it is...most people know when and why someone doesnt like them.
If you dont know - koi baat nahin. Duniya mein aur bhi gham hein.

What if it was someone whom u liked and they liked u....but then things slowly went south for....whatever reason? :(

^If the person means that much to you, then reestablish contact with them...and try to sort things out. Ask them if things are cool between you two since there hasn't been much contact. That can open the door to discussing issues if there are any. If they don't seem interested...move on. Or if they're not that important to you....move on. Or if their negative traits overwhelmed their more positive qualities...and if they left you feeling more miserable than happy....move on.

If they're worth it then one.
If not then just pretend like they don't exist or be sickly sweet to them just to pee them off :)

....because of preconceived ideas or biases, do you:
1) spend time with them and try and convince them to like you?
2) walk away from the relationship because you shouldn't have to prove your worth or value to them?
3) other, please explain.
Let's assume that the the other person is not a casual friend who doesn't matter, but a manager at work, a friend of a friend or a potential MIL or sister-in-law?
I think it depends not only on you but how your decision will effect others.
i.e It could be case where you r single and other person is single. I would walk away.
second case could be.... If you are married and that person who doesn't like you is important to your spouse, i will make an effort for person to like me and if there is no improvement at least i can be satisfied that i made an effort.
third case could be. If you have children and your spouse ended up not liking you anymore, i will make an effort for person to like me for the sake of kids. Again best one can do is try and if doesn't work out, ohh well !
