that desis have no idea when it comes to making decent storylines then here it is:
When was the last film you saw that was based on the sea rather than land? Considering that we refer to immigranyts as ‘off the boat’ don’t you think that this is strange?
If I had the time or the inclination, i would definitely consider either becoming a film director or a script writer. (yes i know I mentioned being an editor of a sleazy tabloid, but that’s always there as a cushion if all else fails isn’t it?)
Does anybody know of any sea-based desi films? Just look at the choice we have from Hollywood for gawd’s sake. Deep Rising, The Deep, Dead Calm, Titanic…the list goes on and on.
Shouldn’t this be looked into as a matter of concern?
Actually my point wasn't so much that we have to make sea-based films, more that for such a big industry there is no original thought. For those who are saying that they shouldn't copy Hollywood, what do you think they are doing now?
Lolly/Bollywood is far ahead of that lame Hollywood, when it comes to sea or water. There is more water used in filming those dance-in-that-transparent-sari-while-running-in-the-rain compared to the small lake where ‘Jaws’ is filmed (yeah, its even smaller than a lake, and its in the Universal Studios, which is magnified to depict an ocean in the movie).
Also, can u show any single movie in Hollywood, which can make use of a simple wood stick a.k.a. gandassa, in as many forms, and in as many movies as Lollywood managed?

Lollywood I could script, direct and produce better in 2 days than the ****ty attempts that are put up for our 'pleasure' at present. and i say that with no experience in that business.
