getting financial aid is easier for significantly easier for residents. same goes for scholarships.
now the issue is that a lot of the financial aid is need based and kids of parentswho are pretty well established here dont really qualify for needs based grants.
scholarships are easier for residents as well.
if we look at graduate assistantships types of things, then it has other reasons. from family support to students own funds that they earned between undergrad and gradschool, employer funds, or loans..so they can get done get out early and start on a career path versus recent imports who rely on graduate and research assistantships to support their education.
whole diff ballgame
there are many pakistani as well as indian students working odd jobs to support themselves, many of them may even have assistantships and grants but still need additional income.
