If Pakistan is so diverse, how come we know little about each other's culture?

Maybe I am the ignorant sheltered one here, and probably just making broad generalizations.

If Pakistan is such a diverse (which it is, not doubting it), how come we don’t know a lot about each other’s culture, food, living, traditions and what not?

Other than the stereotypes, I really don’t know much about Pathans, Ranghris, Makranis, Bengalis, etc. I don’t ever recall having even a chapter in Pakistan studies or geography dedicated to actually studying ethnicities of Pakistan. Ofcourse why would Pakistan studies even talk about Bengalis in a positive way, gotta spread the lies and propaganda.

Some people are lucky to have open minded parents who teach them about other cultures. Some parents on the other hand make sure to groom a redneck kid. And some parents just dont give a hoot (let time pave the way).

Either way, after a certain age you can only blame yourself for not knowing. You have the mind, you have the resources. Instead of blaming others for your lack of knowledge you can reach out and learn; and wonder.
