i,m sorry that for some it might be very important… but such guys need to be shot.. who just marry someone to stay in the country/ get a permanent residence, and then as soon as they get that, they kick the wife out…
cruel. and a LOT of desi men do that. 
I have to remind people something:
There are some men who marry a woman to get the green card and stuff and then get seperated as soon as they get the card, HOWEVER, they tell those women BEFORE they get married that this is just a paper marriage and they pay ALL THE necessary and UNnecessary expenses of that woman, they take care of her children (in most cases those women are not hot looking single girls), men do all the housework, take care of women's family and what not. They really have to kiss ass and women don't get them the freaking card in a few months. They juice the heck out of the man and THEN SOMETIMES get them the card in 5-7 years. By that time, the man has no money saved for himself, no house, no future (can't marry any desi girl), no nothing.
On the other hand, there ARE people who marry those women for cards but they are sincere and they tell them in advance that the'll want to spend their life with them. My dad's friend married a woman and they have a little daugher (arond 6 years old).
So not all men are alike and people who just marry for card, they tell women in advance that this is just a paper marriage and those women are not innocent either. They try to get every penny out of the man they possibly can.

People, as I said before, the 500 pound remark was an observation. And I would be more than happy to take their word for it, if they [others like the dude X] even portray that they actually meant to marry the woman for who she is & not for the fear of INS kicking their behinds.
It's like that bimbo who marries a sugar daddy knowing quiet well that in a couple of years she will be getting all his stuff. Trust me, she does not find his drooling or arthritis stricken body anything attractive, it is the bank account.
