If Muslims loved their faith like Sikhs...

Re: Re: If Muslims loved their faith like Sikhs…

Well said. There are more christians in India than there are sikhs. More muslims as well. I think they make up 2% India’s population. There are probably more hindu punjabis than sikhs in India as well. Nothing impressive. Their faith wasnt anything that spread outside of punjab or won the hearts of anyone in any other culture. I have seen drunken wild sikhs going crazy. I can see how much they respect the turban they are wearing.
When is the last time you saw a maulvi with a muslim hat and beard getting down at an indian jam.

I feel a lot of people here are exaggerating the truth. In the UK the amount of Sikhs who actually follow their faith is minimal. The women especially are causing a lot of friction in their community because they tend to drink heavily and sleep around. They also are known to get married with people outside the Sikh faith - especially to Muslims which also leads to tension. So for u to insinuate that a lot of sikh women are better then muslim women is laughable.

I have a lot of respect for those Sikhs who follow their religion fully but sadly there are not that many around here. And my Sikh friends actually agree wtih this.

PS. I'm not saying all Sikh women are messed up - I'm just talking from my own experiences.

Lets not turn this into a Sikh-bashing thread. The point is that such generalizations are false and pointless.

Lajjo why don't you give it a rest? Your non-stop tirades lambasting 'mod muslims' is becoming tirsome now. If you're not posting threads comparing right wing nuts favourably with mod muslims, you're now using sikhs supposed attachment to their religion. Despite the fact most ditch their turbans by the time they get asked why they have bandaged their heads.

I think you guys have left out the buddhists, yeah those b@stards are just as bad as the christians, hindus, sikhs, jews, women, and mod male muslims.

Now you continue to look over the urinal and admire the fellow fundo's peepee.

Re: Re: Re: If Muslims loved their faith like Sikhs…

Hmmm not surprised you seen the british government treatment of muslims have you seen the media onslaught.

I have met indians from UK and they think they are english but behind there backs there white collegues swear at them calling them Raj Patel.

Britian is not the disneyland you like to portray.

as for the pakis as you call them, which is racist term.

why don’t you go to your middle class english buddies and tell them why they don’t mix with muslim or african peoples from the inner cities instead of hiding in there bungalows in surrey!

The english majority also do not get on with any people just visit scotland, ireland or even wales and if your in the area why not visit mainland europe on there doorstep and they will tell you what they think of English and how well they get on with them NOT!

Re: Re: Re: Re: If Muslims loved their faith like Sikhs…

Ak47, You know what, that is the kind of reply I expected. I this is first time yousaid something sensible. I was thinking that someone will get back with some kind of religious explaination for muslims not to mix with non-muslims. Spot on Mate, You are right, majority of white fellows don’t want to get mixed with Pakis (sorry, Pakistanis ). this uneasy feeling exists on both sides. I have friends from all kind of races and I really enjoy everyone’s company. all of us realy enjoy our time in a Local Pub. but some times when when you see someone wearing traditionl dress from Pakistan (lond shirt and baggy trousers) you can clearly see the UN-friendlyness towards non-muslims. And there are mosques in London where Mullahs constantlt and openly preach hatred. Honestly there is this Mullah who opnely says in Speech on fridays that “we will drive white people out of britain and rule this country”. How would you expect white people to like you then?

Sher,

If you watch Bend it Like Beckham you will see that the girl is from a SIKH family and she yearns to break free from her oppressive Indian culture. This film has been directed by a Sikhni and she has directed many more films all along the theme of backward and suppressive Indian culture clashing with life in Britain. So although what you say isn't untrue, it's not just a muslim issue.

I have that film, and you are right it is not realy ONLY muslim issue but rather South-Asian in the whole. but I realy have to say that Pakistanis take it a bit further. for example they force their women to dress like 7th century arabs (I don't mean to be offensive). and use Mosques to preach hatered against non-muslims. BTW, Bend It Like Beckem is a good film.
Although I don't like Beckem himself.

^ Sher, You are judging a large population by a few of its members. Yes, there are some people like that. There are many who are not. Such is the case in every race, religion, ethnicity.

But it won't do you any harm I suppose to learn how to spell his name correctly... or is that just a "7th century arab" thing...

Some do, the vast majority don't, at least not in the UK. Still if it's important for you to make a distinction between Pakistani and Sikh chauvinism be my guest.

Don't you mean "comparatively"? It usually helps if you can spell the things you are arguing about...

The muslim community here in UK especialy Pakis, are very hard to get along with, compare to Indians. They don't make friends with non-muslim people and force their kids to do the same.
[/QUOTE]

Seriously mate do u even know what ur blabbering on about. Never have I heard of pakistani parents forcing their kids not to make friends with non-Muslims.

One thing I agree with u about is that Indians get on with the whites better than us Pakis. That is because Indians are willing to compromise their own beliefs just to mix in while we tend not to. For example, drinking alcohol. My Indian friends always comment on how they respect us Pakis because we have held on to our own culture.
By the way 99% of muslim women in the UK are not forced to dress like '7th century arabs'. The ones who wear hijab do so of their own accord. Just because some of our women have some modesty doesn't mean u can say that they are forced.
