a sequel to my ‘If Suicide’ thread from over a month or so ago:
If Murder wasn’t punishable by death according to the law and religion, if it hadn’t been as taboo, as restricted as bad as it is, if it hadn’t been a major sin assuring hell, how many of us would have had blood on our hands…? How many of us would have kille at leats one, how many of us would have killed countless…? sometimes it seems as if the laws, rules, regulation, religious and social teachings are all that keep us ‘social animals’ from turning into wild animals. If there had been no restrictions or consequences, would we ever take any one’s crap ever? would we ever want to be frustrated cause of someone else? would we not just eliminate the soure of all trouble; any person who pisses us off at all…!?
I'd be murdering a couple of my friends, my room mate, my house maid, a couple of relatives...in fact ALL of my relatives, my boss, my ex boss, my colleagues, my brother(if I had 1), my barber, my tailor, my neighbors...! Well this is a practical list that hit me da moment I read ur thread title.
it wud have taken a few years before it was labelled as a wrong thing to do and strict laws to those found guilty wud have been imposed, had intellect prevailed....
Murder was alwayz pure. Its a natural instinct, if these laws didnt prevail, every1 of us would show their true nature - beasts. Every1 is afraid of da law, every1 has murdered some living form...insects, trees, flowers, desires, wishes, dreamz...da list is endless. We wear a mask of honesty & deny reality. Every1 would murder some1 ery close 2 him/her...father murdering his son 4 disobeying him, son murdering his dad 4 not buying him da new 350Z...mom murdering her daughter who talks with guyz, daughter murdering mom 4 slapping her in front of friends...& a 101 other reasons y brothers would kill brothers & sisters would kill sisters.
Insanity prevails as alwayz, that is y we have laws. Every1 is a beast - Every1.
mal1k,
you're absolutely right, that's exactly what i think and i'm sure everyone knows but too hypocrite to say and accept. everyone of us would have hundreds of murders or atleats attempted murders on ouir hands if it wasn't haraam, a sin and major crime leading to death penalty. we hold ourselves only because we are afriad we'll get hurt ourself, if that fear is out, we get in our true form;the beasts. the saying; "fear a man who has nothing to lose" perhaps is right.
The only real personality that has Xcluded my list would be my mother...I thought had of every1 I could not murder, but my mom is da only 1 I can think of. I know some1 very close 2 me who is loyal, I guess she is 2nd too. I gave t very hard thoughts...nice topic haris, I loved it, makes u wonder what we really r...!
If there was no social or religious restrictions on killing and murdur..........I know most of you will still hesitate.........why???? Because of something called "human emotions". No matter how much we hate each other, I know many of us will not lower ourselves to that level because it is really the emotions which keep us bonded....we can actually feel pain for others whether we believe on religion or not. For example, when i see news of a Israeli child being a victim of suicide bombing, I feel the same as if a palestinian boy was shot by the other side.
What "bonding" we have never been so selfish. As for the news it has desensitised many. And human emotions are values and standards we are told we must feel, we are talking about murder being socially acceptable, in which case of course it would occour.
Resulting in death being not such a taboo topic.
faisaljaved007,
the little bit human that we are is only because we hae alittle bit of emotions, but the moment self interest comes in, all emotions like sympathy, patience, respect and a whole lot more vanish within a milisecond. the emotions of a sensitive person living away from the scene would be similar on the killing of both a jew kid or a Palestinian kid, but if the dead kid is someone whom one knows, the reaction can be well imagined...it's ppl who even under such cases hold back and refrain are who real humans are, who are heroes. Controlling one's innerself is the best Jihad. Forgiveness is so hard, no wonder it's reward is huge according to religion.
