If men..

had to arrange their wedding day, how good do you think we’d be?

I’ll make my bigheaded replies later after digesting the responses :k:

Re: If men..

well..I knew one guy who planned his whole wedding!!! and he did an amazing job :k:

but I dnt know…I think guys might tend to forget stuff…or make the wedding all “manly” instead of being lovely and more “female friendly” :bummer:

Re: If men..

There are lot of male wedding coordinators, I think they do a great job!

Re: If men..

My cousin's fiance is planning their entire wedding almost completely on his own (poor guy! Such pressure!). But she's so completely laid back, she doesn't even know or is particularly bothered with what her bridal jora will look like! Her reasoning is she'll be so happy that day it won't really matter what she wears, she'll still look gorgeous. Luckily, she IS gorgeous so I think she's right there haha but I feel bad for her fiance. Its a lot of pressure planning such a huge wedding and I really do think its a two-person job. Neither bride nor groom can be cut out of the process entirely. After all, its BOTH of you getting married that day, not just one!

Re: If men..

My fiance is planning the valima entirely himself! I chose my dress, but he's doing everything else and he's doing a great job. He doesn't have any sisters, and he won't let his parents help either. He comes with me to meet every vendor to see if they get his vision... and he's just as picky as I am with everything. He asks for my opinion a lot, but I want him to have it his way so I don't say too much.

It's darling to watch :)

Re: If men..

my husband, at the time my fiance, planned our ENTIRE valima reception. he did a fantastic job and the details were incredible. he incorporated all of the elements that a bride would want - so i don't think that men would do any less of a good job. he even made sure that orchids and calla lillies were the chosen flowers, that the cake had our monogram signature on it it similar to our wedding theme and that the stage was super elaborate! don't underestimate men, they also care about making that special event as amazing as possible!

Re: If men..

But you know it definitely depends on the boy, just like it depends on the girl. If my brother planned his valima reception, I'm pretty sure he would book the same hall I'm using for my wedding whether he liked it or not, just to avoid having to see other places. And then he would think the job was done.

Re: If men..

I've had the conversation with my husband a few times - if he got to make all the choices how would he plan our wedding? Unfortunately I don't think he could have done it back then, having not been to many weddings his experiences and ideas were limited. He's been involved closely in a few weddings since we got married so I'd trust him to plan it now :)

So I'd say guys who go to lots of weddings and pay attention could do a good job of planning it cause they'd know what elements they liked and disliked, however I think guys who don't really bother with weddings would struggle!

Re: If men..

my hubby darling didnt help plan his own wedding or even our daughter's day...he just isn't the type.
my bro in law plans alot of weddings and helps out as required,so he is good.
it all boils down to the guys personality, there are so many girls out there who leave all the work to others too....
hats off to all male/female who organise weddings smoothly

Re: If men..

I think it depends on the person and their own taste. if it was my brother, it'd end up being a top gear monstrosity, with all the budget being spent on fast cars :) my other half has been quite involved with our upcoming wedding, if only because he's really good at haggling so whenever i've needed to get a price down he's done a good job. I have been a typical bridezilla over things like the stage and flowers, whereas he's not fussed about those details.
For those in the UK there was a fantastic show called "Don't tell the bride" that used to be on BBC3, where the groom-to-be planned the entire thing and the bride only found out on the day what she was going to wear, where the ceremony/reception would be... so entertaining but I wonder how many ladies would willingly go for that?
