We have a family of 7 and getting really really nice suits is out of the budget for us. We don’t have any asian shops around us either and can’t travel because of time shortage. Would everyone laugh at us if we wore any of the above suits to a wedding in Birmingham?
I really hate being the laughing stock but we can’t afford expensive suits
Re: if i wore this to a wedding, would people laugh at me
Firstly, no-one will laugh at you for what you're wearing at a wedding. I don't know anyone that shallow to laugh at someone who is wearing out-of-date or not nice looking clothes, and anyone who actually does laugh at you must be incredibly spiteful and shallow.
Secondly, it depends on who's wedding you're going to - if it's a close family member e.g. a sibling or a first cousin whom you are all close to, then people may wonder why you haven't worn nice clothes (though I highly doubt that they'd laugh at you...)
Thirdly, the clothes you've selected are not that bad anyway. They are light formal wear in my eyes but if you wear them with the right jewellery, hair, make up and accessories, they can be pulled off and evening wear.
Lastly - everyone has different tastes. I've seen some stuff posted on here by people which in my eyes is pretty ugly lol, but everyone else seems to be commenting on how beautiful it is, which makes me think maybe my fashion sense is dated? Similarly you could buy the most expensive jorra but people might think it's downright ugly no matter how you wear it - moral: money doesn't buy beauty. Wear what you want and wear it elegantly, and you will look beautiful.
Re: if i wore this to a wedding, would people laugh at me
^^ exactly! Wear what you feel comfortable in and be confident. What is wrong with the dresses you have linked? Why should anyone laugh at you? Or would laugh at anyone wearing these? Don't bother about others. Those who laugh, do it all the time. Regardless of what you are wearing or how expensive/extraordinary it is.
Re: if i wore this to a wedding, would people laugh at me
No matter what you are wearing, always carry your outfit with confidence and grace. So don't over think about your clothes.
If you are not comfortable with wearing outfits from that site, wear any of your old Eid clothes or whatever fancy clothes you may already have in your closet. If nothing still appeals to you, post the picture of your outfit here and the lovely ladies will be kind enough to give you useful tips and advice on how to glamourise your overall look.
Re: if i wore this to a wedding, would people laugh at me
Firstly, I agree with what the others have said on here - nobody will laugh at you as long as you’re comfortable with what you’re wearing.
However, I am going to be honest with you and say outfit 1 and 2 are probably not too great for a wedding as they’re more on the casual side. The wedding is in Birmigham (the land of OTT) so those outfits may look slightly odd, although nobody will laugh because they’ll think it’s just your taste in clothing.
Although I still stand by with what I said - nobody will laugh at you. I’ve been to weddings where the outfits have been more on the casual side, but it was how these women carried themselves and how they accessorised their look which made a lot of difference!
Re: if i wore this to a wedding, would people laugh at me
Thanks for all your help and support guys. I have found a seller on ebay whose clothes aren’t too bad in my opinion. Could I please have some constructive feedback about them? Also I am hijabi and also don’t wear churidars so that rules out some of the nice clothes haha. Thanks
Re: if i wore this to a wedding, would people laugh at me
^ These are lovely outfits and perfect for a wedding. Between the two e-stores, these are a bit more trendy and I give my vote to these clothes!!!
Like the other guppans have said, wear your clothes with confidence, accessorize them well and you girls will look fab. I've worn short shirts when others were wearing lambi kameezes or shalwars when everyone was wearing trousers or pajamas and lighter kaam when other wore heavy fancy outfits and I've never felt out of place. Choose your style and be confident - people will look at you and not your clothes.

The red and green ones that you posted earleir could be paired with generic gold plazzo pants or churidars to look more trendy. Get one stitched if you don't have any and pair them with both.
Re: if i wore this to a wedding, would people laugh at me
I think if you're all wearing the same thing, it looks nice cos the colours go together well, especially if you dress it up with makeup and jewellery. Don't worry what other people think!
