If I Was Given a Choice

I would rather prefer Mush to continue as president and army chief or Kiani can take over which is even a better option with same positions with lota politicians already in the government. The un-natural mix of BB with Mush and MQM is not going to work because this will be against the spirit of Pakistan’s constitution. It will only create more ripples in the Paki politics and further destabilization of the country. Perhaps no one will want that. If BB can win at her own merits in an un-rigged elections and became PM with civilian President, not on NRO or on the shoulders of Mush, then this is rather another story. Perhaps this will be the best option for future of Pakistan.

Otherwise status quo is still viable and practical option. What do you think?

Re: If I Was Given a Choice

But I think its a very natural mix. BB is financially corrupt, Munshi morally and MQM both financially and morally.

Re: If I Was Given a Choice

Farid Saheb, BB cannot become the prime minister for the third time. She needs a two-third majority to alter the law that prohibits her from becomign the PM for the third time and it would be almost impossible.

Re: If I Was Given a Choice

That is why I am saying that this kind of set up will be disastrous to the future of Pakistan. Interests of country should be all above the preferences and likenesses.

Re: If I Was Given a Choice

Farid Paii

Kis dunya maiN rehtey ho?

Condi's statements by the day are becoming clearer. Each day she goes one step further in supporting BB.

She is most likely the next PM.

Re: If I Was Given a Choice

^I say make codi Pakistan's next PM and President. She has BB's intellect and Munshi's look.

Re: If I Was Given a Choice

If she can marry Mr10% i'll second that

Re: If I Was Given a Choice

Isn't that law already twisted by current 2/3rd majority?

Re: If I Was Given a Choice

I don't prefer Mushrraf to carry on forever. Pakistan is in the middle of transition, extremist and moderates are at war in Pakistan. Moreover, Iraq, Afghnistan and Iran will be focal point of 'who gets most oil and control of middle east' campaign between the world powers. Mush, no matter how hated, knows a thing a two on how to handle a situation like this. He is intelligent and has experience. Let's hope, there are individuals who will step up and have a progressive national policy that will include all Pakistan. We haven't see it yet, but hope is there and it will happen. Just a matter of time.

Re: If I Was Given a Choice

So Condi will decide who will be the next PM of Pakistan. She can't handle her affairs at home and Bush administration already under heavy criticism here regarding Iraq expenditures. The value of US $ has gone down even below the Canadian $ shows poor economy of the country. Pakis will be out of their minds if they listen to Condi. Allah raham karayga hum Pakiyoun par.

Re: If I Was Given a Choice

Agreeable points in both your posts Farid & MwaP.

Re: If I Was Given a Choice

Can you elaborate further? I don't like un-natural mix of BB with Mush and MQM; it will create more problems than now. So let’s continue the system already existing. Let Kyani takes over Mush whose leadership has already depreciated and running in red zone. I don't want progressive national policy based on NRO, which is a license to corruption and more terror in Karachi and other places.
