I'll improve the standard of education, especially the basic and make it mandatory and affordable for everyone. Rest will solve themselves.
One very very very important thing pakistan needs to introduce is:
FREE quality education for all the Pakistanis citizens. That is what I would introduce or beg anyone in authority who has the power to do that the first thing.

Improvement in the infrastructure of the education should be priority but focusing alone on this issue won't be helpful to provide relief to the people of Pakistan... I would go forward improve the infrastructure of Education and would again focus more on Rural areas of Pakistan.
I think one of the best way to improve education standard is to hire right teachers and restore the lost respect of Teachers. The Teachers should be the among the highest paid and well respected designation in Pakistan.

1) Till the time govt. do so, can we spare some time and teach in rural areas in our vacations?
2) Can we finance the study of at least one pupil from our deserving relatives, community, locality, city, country?
My immediate focus will be on :
- Poverty reduction by providing incentives to industry to create more jobs in the economy. This will also have an impact on reducing the mindless terrorism we have at the moment
- Education, education and education, free and compulsory for all under the age of 17.
- Focusing on the basic needs of the population, ie. good helathcare, clean water and electricity.
- transparent and accountable government.
- Oh yes and I would sack Ijaz Butt as well. :D

providing incentives in non-monetary form to the existing industry would be a good idea, i think the focus should be to create more industries, high incentives to tapping un-tapped sectors. I would rather provide incentives to the companies who do contract/services overseas and bring back the cash while creating a brand-name for Pakistan and creating lot more jobs.

I am looking more from current situation of Pakistan. We have so much in our hand from IMF to load shedding. If there is one thing I would focus on it would be quality education that is affordable for everyone.
I came to Karachi after 13 years, lived most of my life in Saudi Arabia and U.S. In past two years, what I noticed the most and I do not think it is limited to just Karachi, is that the people here are HUNGRY FOR EDUCATION. They just want Education. From middle class to a milk man, all they want is to educate their kids. I have seen grown men take the burden of inflation, load shedding and violence like it is nothing and cry like baby when they just cannot give their kids quality education.
The level of education in Pakistan is very poor. There is cheating. Books are out dated and the facilities are not that well. Moreover, the innovation and thinking out side the box is not there.
If you give these people a chance to have good education. They will change the entire country for you.
