ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) on Monday cut off power supply to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence.
Iesco has cited non-payment of electricity dues as the reason of disconnecting electricity supply to Imran’s residence.
Imran’s Bani Gala residence has three power connections — two for the main residence and a third for a tube-well.
Earlier in September, federal minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif had said at a news conference that Imran had been paying his electricity bills despite having given a call for civil disobedience on Aug 18.

Asif had said that the PTI chairman’s two electricity bills of Rs17,000 and Rs13,000 had been paid. However, days later, on Sept 20, Imran set fire to his electricity bill receiving cheers from a crowd at PTI’s Islamabad sit-in.
Imran gave a call for civil disobedience on Aug 18 and asked people not to pay taxes and utility bills to force the government accept his party’s demands.

Although not paying his bills isn't justifiable and civil disobedience was absurdly wrong. Having said that, I don't have any proof, but I suspect majority of MPA's and MNA's are not paying their bills either, majority of government institutions are defaulters of utility companies resulting in circular debt, and the famous ittefaq foundry is defaulter of a number of banks, still they keep getting their electricity, get their loans waived off (NS family got a waiver of Rs.60Million last year).
This move to cut IK's electricity is just to play with him, give him a taste of power. A couple of months back IK was also stopped by Punjab Police in Lahore and was issued a ticket. I don't recall any other bureaucrats and politicians ever getting stopped by anyone in traffic or law enforcement.
I am no PTI supporter, but the fact that you can treat their leader like a regular 'mango' awam is depiction of their mode of governance which I like. :)

Waleed for someone living in Pakistan you don't know very much. How long do you have before you get a late fee in paying your bill? A hint your electricity bill has two numbers. One paid on time. One where it is not. But what is the time frame?
