Re: IE problem

& who told you to install it at first place. My suggestion, use Mozilla firefox.

Re: IE problem

Still a beta, and not a very stable one too.

This is the CATCH when it come to using a Pre-Release Application.

You can Rollback to the previous (IE6) version by using the following procedure:

  • Click “Start,” and then click “Control Panel.”
  • Click “Add or Remove Programs.”
  • Check “Show Updates” at the top of the dialog box.
  • Scroll down the list to “Windows XP – Software Updates,” select “Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2Preview,” and then click "Change/Remove."
  • If "Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview" does not exist, run %windir%\$NtUninstallie7bet2p$\spuninst\spuninst.exe. +You need to have "view hidden folders" enabled. %windir% is your Windows installation directory, which is normally 'C:\Windows' on most systems.

Re: IE problem

try restoring your system back to the time you didn’t have that new version of IE
Here are the instructions

Re: IE problem

still not solved
cant understand this options

If "Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview" does not exist,** run %windir%\$NtUninstallie7bet2p$\spuninst\spuninst.e xe. **
+You need to have "view hidden folders" enabled. %windir% is your Windows installation directory, which is normally 'C:\Windows' on most systems.

Re: IE problem

Strange … should have solved it (Add Remove Programs) … Didnt u find the entry there?

BTW: the Microsoft Windows Installer files have hidden installer folder within the Windows base folder. The **spuninst.exe ** can be used to uninstall the Beta Browser.

Re: IE problem

This msg appares…

What shud i do now? Add Remove Programs dosent have this option **“Windows XP – Software Updates,” select “Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2Preview,” **as i followed all steps as u told.

Re: IE problem

Have u System Restored after installing the beta?

Re: IE problem

^ yes

Re: IE problem

That is the reason why u couldnt uninstall.

I am sorry it seems that you’ve messed it up too bad.

Try reinstalling IE6 from: Internet Explorer 6

Re: IE problem

I tried to reinstall IE6

but system is asking to remove latest version of IE first.

This is the problem, is there any other way to remove this IE7 beta version?

Re: IE problem

Just a shot in the dark ... try re-installing the IE Beta and then remove it and reinstall IE6

Re: IE problem

:teary2: :teary3: ab kiya kuch nahi ho sakta … :frowning:

Re: IE problem

Ok one more try …

Use the utility mentioned in the post to remove the IE7 beta and reinstall the IE6

Re: IE problem

Which program shud i remove from this list ?

Sorry but i dont want to do anything wrong now thats why i m asking every singe thing to u which is not sure to me.

btw really thankfull for ur continue support

Re: IE problem

^ I guess the utiity doesnt support the new IE Beta.

The last thing i cant tell you is that you can try “[Repairing](http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repair_xp.htm#How to Repair Windows XP by Installing Over top of Existing Setup:)” the Windows Installation from the Original Windows XP CD.

Otherwise just do a fresh re-install of Windows.

Re: IE problem

tsk tsk.... wo hi mashwara jo aakhir main sub daitay hain *re-install*

ok i will do it as well.. but 1st i will take backup of my system...

this was my 1st question to this computer section... Aaaahh

Re: IE problem

:cb: i said repair the windows first - its not like reinstalling it (thats the last thing you can do). The repair should fix the missing IE6 files back and you may not need to reinstall.

But you made things difficult for you by system restoring it rather than trying to removing the IE6 properly (Add/Remove Programs option).

Anyway best of Luck.
