I downloaded a latest version (IE7B2P-WindowsXP-x86-enu) of Internet explorer from web.
After installation it was hanging my system and after 2 days it stoped working.
whenever i click IE icon the message appears “Teh procedure entry point InternetGetSecurityInfoByURLW could not be located in the dynnamic link library WININET.dll.”
i tried to uninstall this IE but unable to findout where should i remove this newer version it is not in Add/remove program and also not showing in Add/remove windows components"
This is the CATCH when it come to using a Pre-Release Application.
You can Rollback to the previous (IE6) version by using the following procedure:
Click “Start,” and then click “Control Panel.”
Click “Add or Remove Programs.”
Check “Show Updates” at the top of the dialog box.
Scroll down the list to “Windows XP – Software Updates,” select “Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2Preview,” and then click "Change/Remove."
If "Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview" does not exist, run %windir%\$NtUninstallie7bet2p$\spuninst\spuninst.exe.
+You need to have "view hidden folders" enabled. %windir% is your Windows installation directory, which is normally 'C:\Windows' on most systems.
If "Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview" does not exist,** run %windir%\$NtUninstallie7bet2p$\spuninst\spuninst.e xe. **

Strange … should have solved it (Add Remove Programs) … Didnt u find the entry there?
BTW: the Microsoft Windows Installer files have hidden installer folder within the Windows base folder. The **spuninst.exe ** can be used to uninstall the Beta Browser.
What shud i do now? Add Remove Programs dosent have this option **“Windows XP – Software Updates,” select “Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2Preview,” **as i followed all steps as u told.
^ I guess the utiity doesnt support the new IE Beta.
The last thing i cant tell you is that you can try “[Repairing](http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repair_xp.htm#How to Repair Windows XP by Installing Over top of Existing Setup:)” the Windows Installation from the Original Windows XP CD.
i said repair the windows first - its not like reinstalling it (thats the last thing you can do). The repair should fix the missing IE6 files back and you may not need to reinstall.
But you made things difficult for you by system restoring it rather than trying to removing the IE6 properly (Add/Remove Programs option).
