Idol worship

Why is idol worship considered as primitive and as a symbol of ignorance by “modern” religions ?

The modern religions also claim that idol worship has been discouraged by all religions.

Modern religions speak about the philosophy of creating, and beng created. If you make a painting, how would you feel if people praise the panting on its own, and not give any credit to you?

God therefore thinks, as claimed by the modern religion, that he alone is the creator, and worshipping such things as idols, which are creations, and not creators, is an act of ignorance.

And it certainly is.

Thanks jewels.
If indeed modern religions do emphasize on worshipping the creator rather than his creations, why is it that most followers "idol worship"pish tendencies towards several holy articles like their holy book, remains of prophets, holy cross, blessed water, etc.
Recently i read an article which claimed that most bangladeshi muslims, (it could be any country), read the qur'an in arabic without understanding a single word. They chant it because it is the message of God. Similarly, are there not several "Hazrat bal" shrines in different parts of the Islamic world? Is this not a kind of idol-worship or ancestral-worship?
"Modern" religions are no longer modern enough for our society.

Dear queer,

You are exactly right, atleast in my opinion, in what you say.
"Modern religions are no loner modern enough for our society."

You might be called an anti-religionist for such an approach and opinion, but for me, being an ahmedi, this is one of the basic beleifs of my religion.
We believe in the truth of all religions, yet we claim that God will guide his people, reviving his religion on modern terms, until the doom falls.

We however face the same old criticism:
Joseph brought you the clear signs before, yet you continued in doubt concerning what he had brought to you, until, when he persished, you said, "god will never send forth a messenger after him". The same way, god leads astray the prodigal and the doubter. Those who dispute, concerning verses of god, without any authority from god, very hateful is that in the sight of god and believers; and god sets a seal on every heart, proud and arrogant.
