Salamvalekum,
One of the Guppies requested me to post what does Islam have to say about Idol worship well before running in straight to the topic i will try the precipitating effect (Learnt this in finance with MM model).
Well first lets see what do other religions have to say about worshipping one God and above all i have read a few of them and the rest its just blind copy paste (believe me all the Guppies must be knowing where i have picked this stuff from).
Oneness of God in Hinduism
“Those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires surrender unto demigods and follow the particular rules and regulations of worship according to their own natures.”
[Bhagavad Gita 7:20]
Let me go further
“Ekam evadvitiyam”
“He is One only without a second.”
[Chandogya Upanishad 6:2:1]1
“Na casya kascij janita na cadhipah.”
“Of Him there are neither parents nor lord.”
[Svetasvatara Upanishad 6:9]2
“Na tasya pratima asti”
“There is no likeness of Him.”
[Svetasvatara Upanishad 4:19]3
Now let us see what the vedas have to tell,
na tasya pratima asti
“There is no image of Him.”
[Yajurveda 32:3]5
“shudhama poapvidham”
“He is bodyless and pure.”
[Yajurveda 40:8]6
“Andhatama pravishanti ye asambhuti mupaste”
“They enter darkness, those who worship the natural elements” (Air, Water, Fire, etc.). “They sink deeper in darkness, those who worship sambhuti.”
[Yajurveda 40:9]7
Lets go to what bible has to say
“Shama Israelu Adonai Ila Hayno Adna Ikhad”.
It is a Hebrew quotation which means:
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord”
[The Bible, Deuteronomy 6:4]
Old Testament condemns idol worship in the following verses:
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:”
“Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God.”
[The Bible, Exodus 20:3-5]
Now guess what, is there any difference between the Vedas and the Bible both condemn Idol worship. Wonder what if i have to tell some of the Guppies here to describe a place called **DODIDODI **guess what no one on the face of earth will describe, have we ever thought about why is that so, because we have never seen that place niether has someone spoken about it.
Now remember same concept is with respect to God also, unless someone describes us about God we can talk about the attributes of God, otherwise its just not possible. Thats why we see similarities in Vedas, Old Bible and Torah too well this is what i believe in.
The Quran just makes it easier in Surah Ikhlas Chapter 112
"Say: He is Allah,
The One and Only.
"Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.
“He begets not, nor is He begotten.
And there is none like unto Him.”
Now please read about the vedas, bible, and Quran is there any difference. But when Islam preaches believe in one God its wrong, islam says forbid Idol worship is wrong but when the holy books of other religions have to say no one dares to speak about it.
