I’m not saying compromise Islam, I believe our Deen is Haq, what I’m saying is weigh the odds, use your common sense, use your noggen and decide if a certain action will help the image of Islam or harm it.

At times like this everyone’s got their eyes on us waiting to splatter Islam with mud, we shouldn’t give them that chance.

It’s same as after the cartoon incident, the protestors who were threatening a holocaust against the countries they live in didn’t reflect well on Muslims or Islam, we’re weak and we can’t stop anyone with our bad actions, words like that will just provoke them to do it more and increase them in their hate for our Prophet PBUH, those holocaust placards might just have been empty slogans to vent some anger but non-Muslims don’t know that do they? They don’t know that Islam teaches that nobody should bare the burden of anothers’ crimes, instead they’re going to judge Islam by the placards and think Islam condones mass genocide (genocide is exactly what the holocaust was). In our anger and zealousy we are driving people away from Islam and we’ll be held accountable before the Lord for tarnishing His religion… I’m going off tangent, back on the topic..

…He might have been feeling particularly zealous that day but he’s an employee of the NHS, he should have informed them before his appointment that he’ll only treat modestly dressed women and pre-informed all his patients/clients before they joined his practice..

Or he can just move to an Islamic country.

…We’re weak right now, we should assess the situation before we do something. A Jew can refuse to let a Goyim touch his food because he considers the latter unclean but a Muslim can’t ask someone to wear a headscarf, that’s just the way it is right now..

Besides Islam is not like Judiasm, it is practical and easy, it says ‘the pen is lifted’ in the case of neccesity..

I can’t help my sexuality but if you read my posts you’ll see that never ever have I condoned the physical act of homo-sex, that is indeed a sin.

I think Muslims need to start differentiating between the feelings and the action.

Actually Islam has been my catharsis when it came to my sexuality, society taught me I am an abomination for my feelings regardless of whether I consummate them or not, Islam taught me Allaah loves me and that nobody is an abomination for being attracted to a certain gender, those feelings come naturally and are to be controlled, only certain actions (the physical acts of homo-sex) are an abomination.

It’s actually due to Islam that I didn’t end up jumping of a cliff, even though I wasn’t out I was made to feel like sh!t because of my sexuality from what my friends, teachers (in sex ed classes) and parents said, but I found solace in Islam after hating myself for so long.

I believe in Islam and I respect that the Shari’ah forbids me from consummating my feelings and requires me to live a chaste life but I also know it doesn’t criminalize me for my feelings because I can’t control them anymore than you can control your feelings towards men.
