Identity Card Name Change?

Hi guys,

I’ve changed my name’s spelling.

My new name is on my passport, and I have a deed poll.

My question is: do you think I still need to get my deed poll stamped by the FCO (in Milton Keynes)?

Or will my passport + deed poll suffice? I would think my passport is enough, but I don’t work at the High Commission (I think I should apply though because I would probably make less mistakes (they spelt ‘at’ with a double t on my visa to go to Pakistan for a wedding).

What possibly makes the situation more complicated is that the guys in care of the ID cards spelt my name wrong in the first place on the card (but I don’t know how I can prove that this was there mistake and not as a result of my mistake on a form).

And is this going to require a different form or shall I just fill out a form for a new NICOP, it says to highlight the changed fields on the website.

I would just go down to London, but it would be annoying if I have to go up to Milton Keynes to get it attested, and then come back to London.

If there is someone with more experience in this area, please advice.
