are you interested in mosaic... you can use different types of beans and lentils to make a pattern. You can also use beads, colored glass or tiles.

i remember someone on GS was into this kind of stuff.... and on some thread they were discussing how they worked with tiles and glass....
was hoping they come across my thread and post some ideas :(

lol... i remember zobia post some of her mosaic stuff and then i posted some mosaic i did on in my lawn (though it was all one color). One thing you can do is get really small glass or tiles from the hardwarre store and either use one of those thick transparent glues to stick the tiles/glass on or use white cement mixture. You can use the same thing woth the beans, you can also use both beans and tiles/glass. Also instead of drawing a pattern, see if you can draw a little story....like caterpiller looking at a plant, caterpiller in the pot, caterpiller eating the leaves of the plant....so a little story would be really cool. anotherthing I would suggest you is first draw with pencil or chalk then apply glue or cement on small porting and stick the stuff (whatever you want to use).

you don't have to make a complex story, you can just do something simple like the example i gave you. Or you can just think of a pattern or design or an object you'd like to make. One thing you the pot is that what ever you make should go around.... meaning there is no front or back.
How about you first decide on what kind of material you are going to use... tiles, glass, beans, cinnamon sticks, pepercorn, mulch, etc.
Once you have choosen your material then make a design keeping in mind the material you have. Maybe first make the design on paper and then trace/copy it on the pot.

I would design it in henna. Get puffy paint or any type of paint that can still onto a flower pot and do henna designs. Sairji.com has a great henna vector on her website as an example.
