Okay people I have a wedding to go to and need some ideas for the dress.
Its going to be spring, I dont want a top and a skirt just one piece dress, and the colors im thinking of are dusky pink, torquoise and ive run out of colors …
cant wear white the bride will wear it. Cant wear black (why not )
When is springtime in your area? September, october-ish? Would desi clothes be too much for thsi wedding (I’m assuming it’s non desi). You can find lots of nice color combinations in salwar kameez, trouser, etc etc. There’s also a lot of modern, western-style cuts with desi design, like halter top and trouser etc etc…
As for colors, camel/tan and pink and white make a great combination. You can also try lavendar, or a light yellow. I wouldn’t wear black because it’s too strong for a daytime spring wedding (I’m assuming it’s a daytime thing). And plus, black is too boring. Spring is all about colors! Off white and ivory with touches of strong colors like red or violet either in shoes or jewelry or even small print on the dress itself, would look nice as well. Mint green and peach are good colors too. You can also combine a lot of light colors with brighter, darker colors, like fuschia with baby blue or navy blue with baby pink, etc etc.
I don’t think you should shy away from white. Believe me, you won’t look like a dulhan. From seeing your pictures, you seem very tan and white looks great against tan skin.
Well maybe the colors and heavy kaam r too much, but it was as close as I could find: a beaded halter top and trousers, or beaded pants like that and a simple top :)
Also - the fitting is beautiful - its made for women , not deformed characters, and by that I dont mean larger sizes either. The largest they do is a 16. ITs just the fitting and the cutting that is brilliant - somthing that is usually hard to find in highstreet stores. Also monsoon have pretty dresses. well cut - beautiful, and somthing that is unique.
hmmm heres a few dresses. LB, why dont u go to like Kookai or Witchery and have a look at their dresses? They've usually got some nice funky dresses.. especially Kookai. It's always spring time in that shop.. sheesh..
