Re: Ideas for Eid

Ladies, I have a dilemna. I have a whole bunch of saris that I have not worn, but wasn't sure if I should wear one at Eid. All of the saris are pretty heavy (i.e. like wedding wear). So should I wear one? It would be my first time, so should I take the chance of being a sari newbie on Eid day? Or should I save the saris for weddings, or an occasion where I won't be busy all day (also how hard is reading namaz in a sari?).

I do have this chinese style outfit which has pants which I could wear if I didn't wear a sari.

Any thoughts??

Re: Ideas for Eid

Creme Brulee, I've never done namaz in a saree, but I'm guessing it'd be awkward, especially if you're not used to sarees. I wore it to my sister's wedding and was uncomfortable the whole time. Maybe you could wear it for a few hours?

Femme, ufff...nai naveli kidher se? I'm a whole year purani. Didn't even wear dulhan clothes on the first eid which happened to be 2 months after the wedding. :D But yeah, this magenta one isn't so bad. I might go for it. But then again, it's not like I've anywhere to go or any parties to attend. :-\ I'm tempted to bum around in my regular track pants and a tee. :D

Re: Ideas for Eid (merged)

Should I wear a sari????????????
I will go to this gathering with my one year old daughter.

Re: Ideas for Eid (merged)

^ I hadn't thought of the sari idea before, but it seems to be quite popular. I usually wrap my saris so I'm all covered, so it wouldn't be a problem going to gatherings or to the mosque on Eid.

It'll look nice. Go for it.

Re: Ideas for Eid (merged)

yh saris look nice

Re: Ideas for Eid

What I don't understand is why would someone buy such clothes to begin with?? You shouldn't be wearing clothes that reveal your body instead of covering it...
