Re: IDEAS 2006: 'Pakistan pursuing defensive deterrence'
Holy smoke guys! I had the time of my life there on Thursday and am dying to go again Friday but am also trying to make it to the field display by the 3 forces at Manora on Fri. Let's see. Managed to get just 4-5 pictures, will be posting them soon.
PP, youre right! This is BIG and getting bigger! Everyone BIG was there, like mentioned in the above report, plus many more.
One most interesting thing was the stall of the Arms Manufacturers from Darra Adam Khel! And their stuff was amazing. It was an excelent move to include them. It's a very competitive industry covered under a shade of illegal arms use prevalent majorly in the NW parts of the country. The arms produced there are reliable, cheaper and perfectly legal if used under prescribed laws and regulations. The only thing wrong is that they can produce anything from a copy of a Glock pistol to replicas of antique guns, and heavy assault guns as well. A version/copy of the Glock pistol cost about Rs 20000. While the original costs about Rs 350000-400000 here. True this all has much issues involved, but it was good to see this industry being recognized.
