Please help!

“Yaar dhadi ishq aatish lai hai”
Who wrote and sang it? And can you please please translate it for me so that I can weep more easily.

Well it aint sure , who wrote it , it could be either Hazrat Sachal saRmast , known as 'shair-e-haft zaban' (poet of seven languages) or another famous sufi Sultan Bahoo ...

Ustad Juma Khan is the singer :)

there is no roman urdu bhai saab. I don't really want word to word translation but only the meaning of some punjabi words i never heard before....to enjoy the kalam fully.

Well here you have it… translated into Urdu(Roman):

Ishq aur aag dono ek jaise hain
par ishq ka tao kuchh ziadeh hee tez hai

aag to ghaas phoos jalaatee hai
par yeh ishq to jigar jalaa ke rakh deta hai

aam aag to paanee se bujh saktee hai
par is ishq ki aag ko kis se bujhaaoon?

yaar aesee jagah se dil mat lagaanaa
jahaan ishq ne dera jamaa rakhaa ho!

ae yaar is ishq ne kiyaa tez aag lagaa dee hai mere andar
jis ne mujhe bekhood kar diya hai

aur jo merey seeney kee bardaasht se baahir hai.

jab ishq zameen o aasman larzaataa aayaa
tab muhabbat ne bhee bahut shor machaayaa
tab se main bekhood raqsaan hoon

ae yaar is ishq ne kiyaa tez aag lagaa dee hai mere andar
jab ishq aayaa to main bhee is ke paas sirak aaee

sharam o hayaa to pehli hee gharri mein ganwa baitthee
ab behad malaamat bhee har tarf se barasne lagee

yeh ishq to mujhe ab ek pal chain se betthne bhee naheen detaa

aur yeh mujhe aisaa mast banaa deta hai

yeh ishq kee aag Usman zamaan o makaan se bhee baahir hai

beshak yeh arsh se aaee hai

The missing stanza goes something like..

Ishq di nehr paee wandi
(in the stream of love that flows)
Kaeee taryaan karam waliryaan
(only those with deeds are able to swim)
Kojiyan teh lang paar giyaan
(thats why the plain&ugly ones were able to cross it)
Atey rondi shaklaan waliryaan
(while the apparently beautiful ones couldn’t)
Soniya lekin na bhul we maahi
(you may be beautiful my dear one but don’t forget)
Main rolan tenu te langan kaliyaan
(if your deeds are not worthy, it will make you labor endlessly while the plain&ugly ones will cross easily)
ghulam fareeda je rab taan noon kare
teh aey mawaliyan de mathey la laiyan
