I was to go to hartford, CT and attend it.. that was the plan but the project got dropped for which i was interviewed for.. so i decided to stay in NY for now :vivo:

yes… I was in cambridge, Ontario from June 4- June 13th… went to Niagra Falls (after I last visted in 97-98) CN tower… downtown areas… Gerad, Young st. :smiley: missisagua, north york.. basically whole GTA :stuck_out_tongue: … even to shirin mehl and Iqbal foods.. but I was with my parents and my navigator cousin (the same I mentioned in my journal:D) …

then I left for Montreal on 14th… taking 1000 island cruise in the middle… went to quebec city and many places in montreal and came back to NY by 18th… total of 3500 miles :hayaa: drove alone :bummer:
finally, I spilled the beans eh? :phati:

i was not in toronto .. the place was like more than an hour drive from Toronto (401 exit 278 if i remember correctly.. or was it 403) and the situation i was in, it was hard for me to go out leaving my parents alone at home for cousin was doing night shifts when we were at home… rest of the time, we always had to a plan to go somewhere …

It was actually a 3 day convention. There are a lot of activites for everyone. There are speeches, Basketball games. Theres even a bazaar where you can buy islamic book, scarfs, saris, and muchhhh more. The speeches were awsome. A lot of young muslims came and talked about issues that youth is dealing with now.
Its a really nice experience.
Before going i thought it would be a “Hook Up” spot but it was the opposite its very family orientated

Icna is "Islamic Circle of North America"
Its basically about Gathering Muslims from all over America and educating
them about Islam. Its a very good way of showing the Muslim Youth
the right way to Practice Islam. There are a lot of scholars there that answer questions and clear any misconceptions. The convention is also about bringing people together. You get to make friends, do some networking,
play sports and etc. It was a three day event but unfortunatly i only had the chance to go on the last day. But from what I have heard the two days that i missed were much better than the last one. But I Plan to go to Isna Convention in Chicago for all 3 days.
