Ice Sculptures..

I was never a fan of them until I saw one at my workplace, and it was so beautiful.

What do you guys think of them? How much do they cost? And how do you keep them from melting away?

Re: Ice Sculptures..

I'm not a big fan of them either... But I remember sumorani had on her wedding. Aug n khi wonder hw they stayed thr... Pareezay y not post a pic of the one at ur work!

Re: Ice Sculptures..

i love ice sculptures. some are made so beautifully that you end of staring at them for ages in amazement. then i have seen some at weddings which look very rushed. but that ones that have a lot of detail in them look spectacular and amazing at weddings and very elegant.

Re: Ice Sculptures..

I think they look really good

Re: Ice Sculptures..

i wonder, how do they stay that way? are they even meant to stay up all night?

Re: Ice Sculptures..

at the wedding i went to i never noticed the ice melting but then the wedding function was around 4 hrs long. i heard they can last for 6 hours or something. but then what happens in the summer season?

apprently 1/2 inch of ice melts every hour or something like that.

Re: Ice Sculptures..

im sure someone wud try to lick it.

Re: Ice Sculptures..

hehehehe! actually i have seen people try to poke things at it to see if it would break but those ones were so big! lol.

mmm...sara maybe they should make flavored ice-sculptures eg coco flavour and then all the guests can enjoy licking their own at their tables! what a silly thought! lol.

Re: Ice Sculptures..

i think theyre pretty, but a waste. u might as well spend the money on something that will last more than a couple hours.

Re: Ice Sculptures..

^ i like your nickname. v nice.

Re: Ice Sculptures..

lol thanks

Re: Ice Sculptures..

Saw them at a wedding and they do look lovely! The one I saw was heart shaped and had a bride and groom in the middle:)

They are in the $600 above range

Re: Ice Sculptures..

Re: Ice Sculptures..

i think they are a serious waste of money....would never buy one

Re: Ice Sculptures..

^ agree - I just don't understand what purpose they serve and they don't even look v. nice, but that's just my opinion!

Re: Ice Sculptures..

they remind me of birthdays and bar mitvahs, if you want some umph or a focal point....a gorgeous wedding cake would serve as a better one..

Re: Ice Sculptures..

I think they look so cheap.

Re: Ice Sculptures..

^agree

i'm getting an ice sculpture. they are a great accent in my opinion for the cocktail hour/reception area because while people are mingling and eating appetizers, they can appreciate different elements/details in the wedding.

i'm keeping it simple and getting our monogrammed initials in a cool design/symbol and that will be our logo for the entire wedding hopefully!

Re: Ice Sculptures..

My husband thinks it's like your showing off (??!) so Im not getting one for my wedding, I never really liked them anyway. Maybe because alot of the ones I have seen are pretty tacky designs. Maybe if I come across a beautiful one, I'll change my mind!

The one at my work was beautiful, with lighting and everything, very sophisticated. One of the head chefs here makes them and I heard all his designs are stunning.
