The 2012 World Twenty20 will be the fourth edition of the Twenty20 tournament. The first was hosted by South Africa in 2007, where India beat Pakistan in a thriller to become Twenty20 champions. Pakistan, the losing finalists in 2007, defeated Sri Lanka in the 2009 tournament to become World T20 Champions, held in England. England became the third World Twenty20 champions by beating Australia in the West Indies.
During the group stage and Super Eight, points are awarded to the teams as follows:
Win = 2
No Result = 1
Loss = 0
In case of a tie (i.e. both teams score exactly the same number of runs at the end of their respective innings), a Super Over decides the winner. This is applicable in all stages of the tournament.
**"Shahid Afridi is a big match winner for us and hopefully he will deliver for us once more," Mohammad Hafeez.
"The reason why PCB allowed everybody to play in the SLPL was to get used to the conditions, especially in Pallekele & Colombo." said M. Hafeez
"We have a good bowling unit with Umar Gul, Yasir Arafat, Sami & Sohail Tanvir, who is difficult to deal with his unusual action." M Hafeez.**
Arafat a good bowler!! I must have been watching a different sport. Tanvir too is nothing special. Only Ajmal and Gul are our two good T20 bowlers
Nasser Hussain on Pakistan **... and spot on as always
"T20 bowlers win you games. Pakistan have been great at that. Test match bowlers trying to get you out. **Abdur Rehman will be missed, he should have been in the World T20 squad.
The batting is a worry, **Afridi delivers once in 10 to 15 games. **The batting is inexperienced and young."
